Please don't be put off by my apparently low rating of this site - we really liked it and had a lovely stay. We wanted somewhere to stay en route from the Berwyn Mountains on our way back to South Wales and this was just the spot. I really like secluded sites and the other reviews clearly mentioned that there are no facilities. We have a small VW campervan and we were able to use the toilet in an old caravan near the owner's house - it wasn't promoted as being anything special but it was enough for us for the night. Otherwise a lovely site with plently of electric hook ups and gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. Dick the owner came to welcome us and was very friendly and made us feel at home. There is an offer of 1 to use the wi-fi. Whilst we were there to get away from things, this was our fifth night away so we allowed ourselves to "catch up" and we were wowed by the speed of the access - do take up the opportunity to use the broadband. It's part of a Welsh Government scheme to improve broadband in the rural communities and clearly is a great success - well done Carwyn and the others at Cardiff Bay! So thank you Dick for a lovely visit - we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others - although would mainly suit folks who carry their own facils. But nevertheless, glad we went. Excellent value for money as well.

This is my second visit to this site and the owners are so helpful and welcoming - the fresh eggs are delicious. This is a very quiet, secluded site with no facilities such as toilets or showers. However, most caravanners I would think are self-contained and can manage. There is fresh water and a toilet, waste water, rubbish disposal points and there are plenty of electric hook-ups around the field. There is a small community shop in the village but be aware that it closes at 12:30 on Saturdays. I don't know if it opens on Sundays. Lake Vyrnwy is less than 20 miles away and is lovely to walk, cycle or drive around. Welshpool is only about 15 miles away and is a lovely little town with a large grocery store and lots of small shops (very few open on Sundays) and there is a light steam railway running from here to Llanfair Ceireinion but you'll need to check the timetable before you go if you want to ride it. Dingle nurseries are not far from the site and they have some really interesting plants. Oswestry is also not far away for shops and historical interest. Yes, I'd recommend this site if you want a peaceful break away from towns and big shops.

A lovely little site for peace and quiet.

This review is for Wern Oleu

A lovely little site for peace and quiet. Very basic (no showers or toilets) but that suits us fine and the cost is very reasonable. level pitches and a decent ampage on the hook up. Well situated for visiting Lake Vyrnwy, Welshpool etc. Only minor criticism is that the grass could have been cut shorter and was damp in the mornings, quite a narrow access track.
