Overview

Great site for exploring the pretty Cotswolds towns and their attractions.

Amid the honey-coloured villages of the Cotswolds is where you’ll find the Club’s charming Chipping Norton campsite. Tucked away off the beaten track, this campsite offers a mix of level and sloping pitches, surrounded by trees and dry stone walls.

If it’s peace and tranquillity you are after, this site delivers in spades. But it would a shame not to venture off site and explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Hop in your car or catch the bus right outside the site and discover the charms of Chipping Norton itself, Chadlington, Charbury and Witney for starters.

No stay at Chipping Norton campsite should be without a visit to Stow on the Wold, Bourton-on-the- Water and Batsford. As well as brimming with charm, they boast an eclectic mix of family attractions including Birdland and a model village in Bourton. Batsford Arboretum and Hidcote Manor are also worth visiting.

Worth Noting

Most pitches are sloping so chocks will be required. The site has full recycling facilities.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There is a Farmers’ Market on the third Saturday of the month in Chipping Norton. Several farm shops in the area sell locally grown fruit and vegetables.

We found the site easily enough - always use the maps printed off from the C&CC website.

We found the site easily enough - always use the maps printed off from the C&CC website. Showers and toilets were spotless. Pitches well spaced out but rather uneven. We were pitched close to reception but anyone further away down by the shower blocks could well have needed ear plugs to get a good nights sleep due to the traffic noise from the adjacent road. The noise issue would be my only criticism of the site and even this did not affect us too much from our pitch. Chipping Norton itself is a nice Cotswold town with a good selection of shops and restaurants etc. Lots of places of interest in easy reach and surrounded by pretty countryside. Would definitely return.

Although we liked the actual site the only negatives were that the kids play area was very small and basic once 5/6 kids were on there it was very congested. Also donot expect a Lie in at the weekend as the part of the site we were in is right next to a road and it appears the locals like nothing better to ride very load very fast motorbikes at ridiculous times of the morning. The road did disturb us at times there is a constant hum and some very loud users. If we return to this site we would request the opposite end.

We stayed here for the weekend while we were touring . What a lovely peaceful site with really friendly wardens who asked what pitch we would like on arrival . I asked for level sunny pitch and he said no problem and showed to our pitch . It was lovely to see such happy wardens.we had fish and chips from the van which visits the site on a Friday and they were lovely .the bus into chipping norton was outside the site and ran every hour but not on a Sunday . The toilet block block was spotless and the site is kept nice . I would recommend this site to anyone
