Enjoy nature walks, cycle trails and the Peak District from this site.

Our award-winning Club campsite at Teversal is surrounded by gloriously varied walking country. Opposite, the Silverhill Wood Country Park offers direct access to the Teversal Trails and miles of walking and cycling paths. Further afield the walking and cycling trails of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District offer more challenges through ever changing scenery.

There are a range of Boardman bikes available for hire on site so you can explore the local area during your stay. Hire costs are from as little as £6 per hour or £15 per day. Bookings can be made directly with the site, which is advisable during the peak periods.

Teversal is an established campsite. Hedges and greenery pepper the site which boasts fantastic amenities: auto sensor power showers, individual washrooms with shower, toilet and sink, parent and child facilities, a well-equipped laundry and washing up area and children’s play area. The shop is well stocked and morning papers are available. There’s even a dog/bike shower.

If you can tear yourself away from the campsite, there are numerous attractions close by. The National Trust’s Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House and Gardens are within easy reach as is Bolsover Castle and Newstead Abbey, the former home of the poet Lord Byron.

Water lovers are catered for at the National Watersports Centre which offers white water rafting, wake boarding, water skiing, sailing and more. Families will love Water Meadows Family Fun pool with slides and wave machine situated in Mansfield.

We arrived as 2 groups on a busy August bank holiday.

We arrived as 2 groups on a busy August bank holiday. Apparently pitches are usually self allocation but on this weekend they were pre-assigned. They had noted our request to be sited next to each other and placed us together. The gravel around the site is very deep and makes for difficult towing in places, not to mention the numerous kids we saw fall off their bikes and scooters. The facilties are clean and truly are brilliant, not only the toilets and shower block that everyone raves about, but also the water, bins and chemical disposal points are dotted about all over the site. One thing to note, you will need some sort of tubing for the tap into your water containers. The site is supposedly 'Top for Dogs', as a dog owner, we would wholeheartedly disagree with this statement. Yes, within a stones throw you have some excellent walks provided by the forestry commission to take your pooch around, but as far as the site is concerned, this is not a top site for dogs. There is a field on the right of the site that asks for all dogs to remain on lead at all times, however this doesn't appear to be the designated dog walking space, as the children on site had decided to make ramps for their bikes which then left pieces of broken wood around the field. It would be nice to have this area purely for dogs to do what dogs do best, rather than have to cross the road to the forestry commission each time your dog needs to stretch their legs and catch the odd ball. Please note that this site also requires your dog to be tied down when on your pitch, which we can fully understand when there are some people who are slightly hesitant around dogs, however this can be quite an issue when children from the site all coming running to your dog wanting to pat them. Perhaps a reminder within the site rules, all children must be reminded that not all dogs will want fussing whilst on their holiday too. All in all, a lovely site, but certainly more geared towards families.

The Team at Teversal were without doubt truly exceptional. We had an accident on route and without the cooperation support and continued nothing was too much trouble attitude we had a great holiday at Teversal considering the start. National Trust sites all within easy reach, Silver Hill Wood with the Miner was also a lovely afternoon nature walk. The facilities on site were extremely clean and tidy too. Thank you so much Sue & Partner (Sorry didn't get introduced), Pauline and Steve ... a credit to the Club.

We're just back from a perfect weekend at Teversal.

This review is for Teversal

We're just back from a perfect weekend at Teversal. We got a warm and friendly welcome and lots of information about the site and amenities. Pitches are a good size and quite private with good use of hedges and trees as dividers. We asked for a pitch next to friends, and we got exactly that, perfect. We were travelling with older teenagers (15 & 16) so can't comment on children's facilities. Toilet block was very clean with 5 huge wet rooms which had a toilet and sink in each too, plus separate sinks and toilets. There were disabled and family rooms also which meant everyone was catered for. We've been to quite a few club sites over the last 10 years and these could possibly be the best we've been to. There is a pub within 5 minutes of the site, food is great, has a really good atmosphere and contemporary decor. The pub has a beer garden at the front, and a better one to the rear with an alfresco menu, the rear garden has a sheltered area with heaters and sofas so you can chill out with the family, and dogs are welcome too. We will definitely be back to this site, couldn't have wished for a better weekend, even the weather was fantastic.

“Luxury with a capital L. We were lucky to get a late booking which I am sure is only because word has not go out yet. Judging by the attention they were drawing from other campers it will soon! Thanks to Jayne and Chris for a wonderful weekend.”
