Our award-winning Club campsite at Teversal is surrounded by gloriously varied walking country. Opposite, the Silverhill Wood Country Park offers direct access to the Teversal Trails and miles of walking and cycling paths. Further afield the walking and cycling trails of the Derbyshire Dales and Peak District offer more challenges through ever changing scenery.

You can hire one of the 12 Boardman bikes on site to explore the local area during your stay from as little as £6 per hour or £15 per day. Bookings can be made directly with the site, which is advisable during the peak periods.

Teversal is an established campsite. Hedges and greenery pepper the site which boasts fantastic amenities: auto sensor power showers, individual washrooms with shower, toilet and sink, parent and child facilities, a well-equipped laundry and washing up area and children’s play area. The shop is well stocked and morning papers are available. There’s even a dog/bike shower.

If you can tear yourself away from the campsite, there are numerous attractions close by. The National Trust’s Hardwick Hall and Chatsworth House and Gardens are within easy reach as is Bolsover Castle and Newstead Abbey, the former home of the poet Lord Byron.

Water lovers are catered for at the National Watersports Centre which offers white water rafting, wake boarding, water skiing, sailing and more. Families will love Water Meadows Family Fun pool with slides and wave machine situated in Mansfield.

After reading the reviews for this site i decided to book for a couple of nights, this i tried to do online but the nights i tried for said unavailable, so being undeterred i called the site direct and they confirmed they could accommodate and let me have a pitch for the nights i wanted. I paid over the phone and everything was confirmed. On arrival my first impressions were really good, they had my details and issued me with a security barrier key and then told me to follow a member of staff to my pitch. Once sorted i then went for a browse around and just couldnt fault the site, it really is very nice and well worth the ratings. My only small gripes and this is just me being picky is that i paid for wifi but the signal was very weak and intermittant from the pitch i was on and wouldnt connect properly so i never bothered with it. My wife asked at the reception if there was a facility for freezing ice packs and we got the answer as a no so we went and bought a couple of bags of ice which sufficed for the couple of days we was there, it wasnt until we left and handed our secuirty pass back when we was asked if everything was ok and my wife mentioned the ice pack situation when she was told there was a facility for this purpose, so a bit of confusion there. Finally on returning home i had received an email with confirmation of my booking etc and receipt for payment etc and when i looked at it i saw that i had paid for an electric hook up which i didnt want and didnt have, so another bit of confusion there. Overall though i really would recommend this site, the walks just over the road are amazing especially if you bring your pooch, there is even a dog shower near the entrance to the site. It really is lovely and i hope that someday soon i will return.

Stayed here before it became a club site and this was our first visit to a club site as we only joined the club at February's NEC show. The welcome we received on arrival was really friendly by Chris and then Jane once in the office. Every member of staff we came across was helpful and friendly too. Our visit coincided with the 10th anniversary celebrations since the site became part of the club. We enjoyed the evening in the marquee and again felt very welcome. A good site for anyone into walking, cycling etc. Thanks for the welcome.

Second visit in 8 months and a change in site team on sites we like.

This review is for Teversal

Second visit in 8 months and a change in site team on sites we like. Again, as at another site, organisation at reception was not as good as previously and seriously needs to improve for busier periods. This site has a lot of small pitches and if everywhere is full when you pitch a little help goes along way but we were shown the pitch and then whoosh, team member gone! I have to agree with another review that I have just read; the pitches are small in places and because of this we felt we were camped on a car park. It wasn't pretty looking out. The areas for tents are lovely and well maintained but the pitches for caravans and motorhomes did not look the same. The grass was far too long and was therefore increasing a problem with wetness on a very dry weekend (work that out!) because of the water retention in the length of the grass. Also the 9' right of way area at the far end of the site needs some serious attention. The other problem was that nobody seemed to care about the number of dogs on site allowed by their irresponsible owners to be off lead. I watched three dogs defecate with no cleaning up done because the owners were not watching them. Site team - wake up! Having witnessed the plethora of fresh local produce in the form of meat, pies, pastries etc and bread on a previous visit we were looking forward to lots of club shop purchases of divine food. Alas, we were disappointed because there were no fresh supplies. The site was reasonably busy, so stuff going off couldn't be a good excuse for not supplying what is advertised on the web site and sites booklet. Bring the lovely food back please! Still a problem with bandwidth on the wi-fi. It's fine for email and social media but terrible for strava and other sites that need a quick response. Shower block- still the best experienced anywhere!Lots to do in the local area which we enjoy especially the cycling routes and therefore we will return in the hope that the other problems have been ironed out!

“Luxury with a capital L. We were lucky to get a late booking which I am sure is only because word has not go out yet. Judging by the attention they were drawing from other campers it will soon! Thanks to Jayne and Chris for a wonderful weekend.”
