We stayed as we wanted to do some geocaching in the area. We were really pleased we decided on the site. It has everything you need. There is going to be showers next year. Which will finish the site off. Everything was spotless. We will be returning quite soon.

This was our inaugural trip in our new van conversion and I'm very glad we chose this site.

This was our inaugural trip in our new van conversion and I'm very glad we chose this site. It's a flat grassy site close to Redmile village and not far from Belvoir Castle. The site is simple and basic but very pleasant. There's a small block with loos, each with a sink - which are spotless ; there's also a chemical disposal point and external taps ( I believe there will be showers in the not too distant future). The site is next to a road - it's not overly busy but it's a road so there is some traffic. We did not notice it during the night and when we sat out having our coffee this morning, we saw two cars and a few cyclists go past. The site is close to the Grantham canal with 33 miles of towpath - you can walk or cycle (think you have to have a permit to cycle) either to Nottingham or Grantham. Redmile village can be reached either by road or by a lovely 15 minute walk along the canal. There's also a disused railway track edging the site and you can get onto this from a corner of the site. Parts of it were very muddy (the disused railway not the site!) so take your boots. However, the canal towpath was lovely and flat and not at all muddy. We will definitely back to use this site again - it's in a good spot for touring by car, by bike or on foot. There'sa small cottage just down the road but no other building nearby - unless you count the barn next door! So, thank you for our lovely weekend - and thank you for the eggs!
