We stayed for 3 nights in mid February and totally enjoyed using the site to tour Whitby and North York Moors. The site is gravelled and well drained. A 16 amp supply, very useful and more than enough space for 5 units. The facilities are basic, water, Chem waste point and fresh water. that's all we needed. Would we return, definitely !

Didn't meet the owner, as we were out quite a lot of the time but she sounded cheery and helpful on the phone. Left money in post box by gate. Pitched adjacent to road and were not disturbed by traffic, Had great views of wildlife on river from overcab bed on waking up. Entrance slightly awkward first time, but ok when you are used to it. The handle is behind the RH gate post. Our hose was not long enough to fill tank with water from recommended tap. Whitby now has some disc parking [ 2 hours] and also a Park and Ride. Missed the steam trains passing through village, only saw diesels!

This is tranquility, lean on the access gate and watch the world go by, and the steam trains, and the cows by the river and the walks into whitby, no mcdonalds, what more does any body want.

Having booked the site 2 months previously, on arrival there were no spaces available. No contact could be made with the owners despite leaving a voice mail which was not returned. On first appearance the site, with 6 units on, was obviously very cramped with no space for awnings. It also appeared that access to a large commercial static caravan site ran through the middle of the CS site! My first impression of the site was that it was a gravel car park!
