This is a campsite where you can relax, enjoy amazing views and have peace & quiet.
We found this campsite great for getting away from it all. The views at sun-set were breath taking. We saw hares, barn owls, plus much more right outside the caravan.
Alex & Kay were very welcoming, & it seemed nothing would be too much trouble for them. Free Range eggs were available from them if the hens were obliging.
The location was stunning, views down to Whitby & the North Yorkshire Coast line, especially at sunset.
The walks down to Robin Hoods Bay are not to be missed. The walk back up is good fun too, but there are taxis if you don't fancy the hill.
Seven days just flew by, we should have booked for 2 weeks. We will be back next year.

Nice site but seems more suited to caravans than tents or trailer tents.Friendly and helpful owners.Clean and tidy facilities.
I agree with some of the other reviews in that the grass is quite long and not really suited to tents. Even when mowed it is still left too long for comfort.
We left just as families were arriving at the start of the summer holidays, and counting up the number of units with families in them thought that one shower each for male and female plus one washing up sink was not really adequate for the number of people using the site. If you are in a tent you are best pitched at the bottom of the site for shelter from the wind, but that means you don't have the views. You are also next to a surprisingly busy little road over the hedge, and close to the silage clamp on the farm next door!

last minute booking warm welcome site easy enough to find but overall disappointed
We felt the grass was too long for tent pitches and although the one toilet one shower was clean and tidy the lighting was on timer and whilst showering the lights went off I was left fumbling in the dark for my towel and had to step out of the shower cubicle into main area to reactivate lights and carry on with my shower. Although it does clearly say the site is next to a dairy farm we were not expecting to be woken up at 6am each morning from very noisy cows in the next field. Our tent was pitched by the newly planted hedging and was next to a busier than expected road which also woke us. One further note is the site is quite high up and we found although sunny in Whitby it was overcast and misty on site and very exposed to wind

One of the best sites you can visit
This is our 2nd visit here and will be back again. The site ground was on the damp side so Alex gave us the hard standing at the field top, we set up with the wind gusting 20-30mph with my wife trying not to do a Mary Poppins as she hung on to the awning. And as usual for us as soon as the awning was up the weather changed the wind dropped and the sun came out for 4 glorious days, whod have guessed it! not us, as we basked in the sun in fleecy lined trousers, woolly jumpers and water proof hats. as before the facilities are top notch and can not be faulted.
