Near Scarborough, this site is ideal for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and moors.

Our Scarborough Club campsite lies just north of the Victorian seaside resort of the same name and is perfectly located for exploring the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park.

Scarborough is a large family-friendly campsite with 300 pitches. It is a spacious site with well-placed modern facility blocks. Younger campers are catered for with two play parks and a football pitch and there’s a recreation room too. There’s a small on site chippy, a well stocked shop and a dog exercise field.

From the campsite, it’s an easy walk to the town’s Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary and the North Bay beach along a pleasant cliff-top path. The site is a ten-minute walk from the Cleveland Way National Trail which hugs the North Yorkshire coast and a traffic-free cycle path passes close to the site on the way to Whitby.

West of the campsite North Riding Forest Park (or Dalby Forest as it is also known) has many waymarked trails for walkers and mountain bikers. You can go orienteering here too. Go Ape! Offers tree top adventure with ropes and zip wires or, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, enjoy the forest on a Segway.

Head north to Staintondale for the Shire Horse centre. Learn about the North Yorkshire coast at the Ravenscar Coastal Centre. From here it’s a three-mile beach walk to the pretty fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby, ten miles further on, offers the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Lifeboat Museum and Whitby Abbey. Catch a train to Grosmont, the terminus for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This 18-mile heritage line runs across the National Park to Pickering. Jump off at Goathland (or Aidensfield for TVs Heartbeat fans).

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

First time we have attended Armed Forces Day, the Association Committee put on a spectacular day, something for everyone. Finished the night off in the Open Theatre, Alfie Bow in concert. We had visits from local friends and other club members who came to see us, makes the stay even more enjoyable. This is a very well appointed site that we really appreciate and look forward to making many more visits.

We've stayed on a few club sites and whilst facilities have always been well maintained we haven't been overly impressed by the attitude of staff until now. Friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble for the team in Scarborough so we were on to a winner from the outset. The site is well maintained and in a great location - a couple of pubs (both nice for drinks and food) within 10mins walk (one is literally on the edge of the site) and options to walk into Scawby Mills via a cliff top walk or on the road and then into North Bay and the resort or by road - both routes around 30 mins steady stroll or we clocked 1.5miles by road - footpaths all the way- to Peasholme Park. Tesco Express about a mile away for stocking up and a neighbouring pitch got pizzas delivered to the reception so lots of options. We booked a jumbo pitch with no electrics then realised the air bed we'd borrowed had a built in pump so we needed electrics - no problem..the on-site team lent us a cable so we could get sorted. This meant my 79year olds parents had a bit more comfort whilst they camped with us. Plenty of well kept toilet and shower facilities and a recreation room as an added bonus. Would highly recommend this lovely site.

A really well laid out site with very healpful staff, especially the bikers who race around, (carefully), showing you to your selected area. Local buses were close by to get you into Scarborough or Whitby for a sightseeing trip if you fancied it. We enjoyed it all very much. there is even a restuarant within a few metres of the back gate to the site, which was very handy. The biggest bonus however, despite being so close to Scarborough there were NO SEAGULLS. Yippee.

I found the route across the field and along cliff top rather a challenge but was a lovely scenic moment I think I thought it was going to be nearer to the town. Still enjoyed a train and open top bus on different days. Staff very friendly. Shame the fish and chip lady had retired!
