Near Scarborough, this site is ideal for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and moors.

Our Scarborough Club campsite lies just north of the Victorian seaside resort of the same name and is perfectly located for exploring the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park.

Scarborough is a large family-friendly campsite with 300 pitches. It is a spacious site with well-placed modern facility blocks. Younger campers are catered for with two play parks and a football pitch and there’s a recreation room too. There’s a small on site chippy, a well stocked shop and a dog exercise field.

From the campsite, it’s an easy walk to the town’s Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary and the North Bay beach along a pleasant cliff-top path. The site is a ten-minute walk from the Cleveland Way National Trail which hugs the North Yorkshire coast and a traffic-free cycle path passes close to the site on the way to Whitby.

West of the campsite North Riding Forest Park (or Dalby Forest as it is also known) has many waymarked trails for walkers and mountain bikers. You can go orienteering here too. Go Ape! Offers tree top adventure with ropes and zip wires or, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, enjoy the forest on a Segway.

Head north to Staintondale for the Shire Horse centre. Learn about the North Yorkshire coast at the Ravenscar Coastal Centre. From here it’s a three-mile beach walk to the pretty fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby, ten miles further on, offers the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Lifeboat Museum and Whitby Abbey. Catch a train to Grosmont, the terminus for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This 18-mile heritage line runs across the National Park to Pickering. Jump off at Goathland (or Aidensfield for TVs Heartbeat fans).

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

On our recent visit to the Scarborough site we were pitched between 3 caravans with dogs which we found intimidating. An area free of dogs would be very nice for those who are not dog lovers. Is this something which could be requested when booking a site?

enjoyed our stay, lovely walk along coastal path from site, but rather a long way to centre of old town if your not fit, aparently not many buses from site,,but you can get a bus from sands are not far from Sea Life, we can recomend the Scalby mills pub, just below cliff top walk, but didnt go in pub next to site as dogs not allowed, but it looked busy and open all day.

Enjoyed our stay on this site but at 75 for three nights and NO hook up? Typical over inflated prices because of Easter. Do I get a refund for being an atheist? The site is very well laid out and organised. Would like to go back again some time. Very quiet at night. Plenty of local places to eat and drink.Good service points for motorhomes.

15 mins walk, via coast or road, from sea life centre from where you can catch minitaure railway to North Bay then you can get open top hop-on hop-off to South or North bay avoiding using car, especially useful in heavy bank holiday traffic - Splendid! Peasholm park very pleasant although not much for kids apart from boats. Minor Site Observations: At time of visit 'A' block showers not very hot and you can get splashed by adjacent showerers under partition. No recycling segregation - assume this is due to local authority and not site.
