Near Scarborough, this site is ideal for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and moors.

Our Scarborough Club Site lies just north of the Victorian seaside resort of the same name and is perfectly located for exploring the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park.

Scarborough is a large family-friendly campsite with 300 pitches. It is a spacious site with well-placed modern facility blocks. Younger campers are catered for with two play parks, a football pitch and there’s a recreation room too. There’s a small on site chippy, a well stocked shop and a dog exercise field.

From the campsite, it’s an easy walk to the town’s Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary and the North Bay beach along a pleasant cliff-top path. The site is a ten-minute walk from the Cleveland Way National Trail which hugs the North Yorkshire coast and a traffic-free cycle path passes close to the site on the way to Whitby.

West of the campsite North Riding Forest Park (or Dalby Forest as it is also known) has many waymarked trails for walkers and mountain bikers. You can go orienteering here too. Go Ape! offers tree top adventures with ropes and zip wires or, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, enjoy the forest on a Segway.

Head north to Staintondale for the Shire Horse Centre. Learn about the North Yorkshire coast at the Ravenscar Coastal Centre. From here it’s a three-mile beach walk to the pretty fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby, ten miles further on, offers the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Lifeboat Museum and Whitby Abbey. Catch a train to Grosmont, the terminus, for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This 18-mile heritage line runs across the National Park to Pickering. Jump off at Goathland or Aidensfield for TV's Heartbeat fans.

Ready Camp is also available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Please note there are building works in the area of the site, so there may be some noise heard from these at times.

Very friendly and helpful upon arrival, including providing extra blocks for the (very) sloping pitch. Overall good facilities - toilets looked a bit tired and not everything was working but the showers were good and plentiful. Dog walk is a good size and well fenced in. The onsite chippie was a welcome bonus -good quality and reasonably priced. The walk into Scarborough is through a field and along the cliff top, takes about 30 minutes and with some steep steps at the Scarborough end. The beach along the busy part of Scarborough North Bay does not permit dogs but there was a section on the southern end of the North Bay that was dog friendly. Check tide times as the beach does disappear at high tide. Easy to get to Bridlington and Whitby - Whitby especially recommended, park at the Abbey and walk down if you don't mind the 200 steps. We were pitched near to the Ready Tents and it was a bit of a thoroughfare with lots of pedestrian traffic; it was also on the route back from the pub at night so some noise then so we would probably select a different location in future. I think we were also unlucky to have our outfit used a football goal but thankfully they moved on when asked. Our first visit to the area and we will come back and can recommend the site as a base for exploring.

I initially booked Scarborough for 4 nights and booked a further 5 nights after day 2. We were pitched next to the play/park area, ideal for my 10 year old. He had a great time making friends, there was quite a lot of children and they all got on well. Facilities were all CCC standard of cleanliness, but the wardens were more flexible than any other CCC site I've been on about cleaning times! Fantastic! When I asked why - was told they are the friendly club and were there to make our holiday a great one!! High 5 team Scarborough.... There is loads to do in the area, Scarborough is beautiful, we cycled part of the Cleveland Way and all along to the South Bay, went to Pickering and took the steam train to Grosmont, cycled around Dalby Forest and did junior Go Ape, day out at Bridlington and Whitby..... I could go on, but the weather was great and this was one of the best holidays we've had. We'll definitely be back again next year.
