Near Scarborough, this site is ideal for exploring Yorkshire’s coast and moors.

Our Scarborough Club Site lies just north of the Victorian seaside resort of the same name and is perfectly located for exploring the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park.

Scarborough is a large family-friendly campsite with 300 pitches. It is a spacious site with well-placed modern facility blocks. Younger campers are catered for with two play parks, a football pitch and there’s a recreation room too. There’s a small on site chippy, a well stocked shop and a dog exercise field.

From the campsite, it’s an easy walk to the town’s Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary and the North Bay beach along a pleasant cliff-top path. The site is a ten-minute walk from the Cleveland Way National Trail which hugs the North Yorkshire coast and a traffic-free cycle path passes close to the site on the way to Whitby.

West of the campsite North Riding Forest Park (or Dalby Forest as it is also known) has many waymarked trails for walkers and mountain bikers. You can go orienteering here too. Go Ape! offers tree top adventures with ropes and zip wires or, if you prefer to keep your feet on the ground, enjoy the forest on a Segway.

Head north to Staintondale for the Shire Horse Centre. Learn about the North Yorkshire coast at the Ravenscar Coastal Centre. From here it’s a three-mile beach walk to the pretty fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby, ten miles further on, offers the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Lifeboat Museum and Whitby Abbey. Catch a train to Grosmont, the terminus, for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. This 18-mile heritage line runs across the National Park to Pickering. Jump off at Goathland or Aidensfield for TV's Heartbeat fans.

Ready Camp is also available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Please note there are building works in the area of the site, so there may be some noise heard from these at times.

onthe last weekend of the season the site was not as of a standard we are usually used to ie: toilet block was closed , and the grass at the top of the site hadn't been cut for a length of time ,because it was wet and long it was hard to walk on and also your feet was permanently wet ! ,the was no mention of any discount as normal rates applied.

Overall we were really happy with this site: the location is perfect for exploring Scarborough and the surrounding area; the facilities were clean, and there were plenty of hot water showers. A small niggle.....we were late arriving, and found locating our pitch in the dark a bit tricky: although a marked map was provided, it would also have been useful to have numbered markers on the pitches.

My only fault with this site has nothing to do with the wardens who are always busy.

This review is for Scarborough

My only fault with this site has nothing to do with the wardens who are always busy. It is the number of people who drive round the site as if they are on a main road even when going the wrong way round the one ways system. The 5 MPH speed limit is supposed to be for safety why do so many drivers ignore it baffles me.
