Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Nestled in the quiet village of Cononley, this family run site is 3 miles from Skipton, the gateway to the Dales. The site boasts gorgeous views of the surrounding hills and countryside, the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing break. There are footpaths leading to the river Aire, where you can take a lovely walk on the riverbank towards Skipton or in to Cononley. The campsite is 300m walk from the heart of the village, where a shop/post-office is open every day. There are two pubs serving meals and a Cantonese take away. There is an excellent railway service in the village with links to Skipton, Leeds, Keighley, and Settle/Carlisle. Barbecues allowed, we are pet friendly with dogs at no extra charge. Nearby Attractions Supermarkets, and petrol station are 2 miles away. Swimming pools, well equipped children’s park in the village, horse riding and local walks.

Not a site for peaceful break We booked the site in January for our family to stay on after reading good reviews. Unfortunately when we drove up there was also a rally there. Too much noise late at night for the kids to sleep properly and facilities were a little overrun. The site itself is nice but seems geared up for large groups. The facilities do need up dating half the toys in the play area were broken and only suitable for the under 5's. There are two nice pubs near by and a shop which the teenagers liked. Also a park just outside of the site for the kids to use, Won't be going back.

Great little place. Just on the edge of the Villiage of Cononley.

Great little place. Just on the edge of the Villiage of Cononley. Two great pubs with friendly locals and food. The train Station is only 500 metres away taking only a few minutes to get to Skipton. Alison is a lovely Lady. Genuinely friendly and happy to help but also leaves you alone to get on with it which is great. Will definitely be going back.

Lovely site in scenic surroundings. Very close to the village and two local pubs.

Lovely site in scenic surroundings. Very close to the village and two local pubs. It's worth mentioning that the Railway doesn't always have food on and the New Inn only does food on a Weds/Thurs. There is a Chinese take away but my advice is to bring your own food or look to eat elsewhere. Facilities are not the best - it's quite a big site and there are only four toilets for both male/female and one shower for each, which was a bit tatty. Lot's of good walking in the area - although very hilly, so not for the faint hearted! Local parks are great for children and there was lots going on in the village over the bank holiday weekend. We would definitely come again and will be recommending the site to friends.

Really good location, with train station a 10 minute walk away.

Really good location, with train station a 10 minute walk away. However the facilities are not good. We stayed in our motorhome for 4 nights at the beginning of March 2017, meeting some friends in their motorhome. We chose the site after looking at the pics on the website, which looked OK. However, the toilet block itself was very run down, very cold and very dark. If you wanted to use the shower (bad idea as you would have frozen to death!) it cost 50p. Heaven knows how they would cope with a full campsite (there were only five or six units on site while we were there). Don't be fooled by the website pics. The location however was very good, with two pubs in the village and the train station only 10 minutes walk - and of course, superb views. At 16 per night we expected much better facilities!
