My favourite site of all time.

This review is for Thornbrook Barn

My favourite site of all time. From the moment my front wheels touched the driveway, resembling the entrance to a top notch Country Club, I knew I was in for something special. Situated in a shallow dip in the landscape, the site appeared before me. The site was, therefore, relatively sheltered against the elements as it is additionally surrounded by trees and foliage. Clear instructions had been left leaving me in no doubt where to pitch as the owners were cleaning the facilities at the time. Soon after parking the owner appeared, gave a very warm welcome indeed and a comprehensive pack and brief on the site and things to do in the environs. The facilities are immaculate as are the grounds, water available at the level pitch, easy access to an from the site, loads to do in the Dales and a high-end food and memorobilia shop 200M from the site just across the A65. This main trunk road is relatively easy to cross with care as visibility stretches 300M in either direction. After 5 nights experience I cannot recommend this site enough; it is simply my favourite site in 51 years of caravanning and I cannot wait to come back!!!

Fabulous site, what a find! Booked our return trip already! What a wonderful site...

Fabulous site, what a find! Booked our return trip already! What a wonderful site Thornbrook Barn is, quiet, secluded, perfect setting with a small brook running through the bottom of it. Fantastic toilet block, under floor heating and immaculately clean at all times. We were on a super pitch so had constant water and waste - always a bonus! You pay more for this pitch type but it is well worth it for the convenience. Price per night is more than fair for the standard of this site. It is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on! We have already re-booked for May next year! The local area has a lot to offer with Settle and Kendal in easy driving distance. Ingleton is a steady 20 minute walk and good for local pubs and restaurants, we can particularly recomend M&M indian restaurant - it was superb. Country Harvest store is a 2 minute walk away and currently offer 10% off food hall goods to Thornbrook guests. This site has no amenities for children, being a middle aged couple this suited us perfectly! Nice to be on a site with no ball games or children on bikes cycling round and around! Perfect site in every way - can't wait to return to enjoy more of the lovely countryside around the site! - Very well situated for the 3 peaks challenge which we are aiming to achieve on our next visit. All in all I would definately recommend, especially for couples wanting a peaceful relaxing time away from the hum drum of day to day life. All credit to Sandra and her family! Already recommended to friends hoping to book for the summer.

Just back from the most peaceful 3 day break ever.

This review is for Thornbrook Barn

Just back from the most peaceful 3 day break ever. We couldn't find fault with this site and we will definitely be going back. thank you. The shop across the road is expensive but had the biggest range of gluten free products i have seen (out of a supermarket) including uncut tiger bread. We went to Ingleton falls which we thought was well worth the visit.
