Located on the River Ure, this campsite is a great spot for walking or visiting nearby York.

Our pretty Boroughbridge Club campsite in north Yorkshire, just off the A1, is a great stop over site for those traveling up or down the country. Equally, its location close the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors National Parks makes it a good base for those wanting to explore Yorkshire’s many attractions.

The River Ure borders the campsite and provides somewhere to relax and watch the world float by. The campsite benefits from recently refurbished facilities, it also has a well-stocked shop and a large area for ball games.

There are a number of walking opportunities from site. The old town of Boroughbridge is within walking distance. There are a circular walks too, or you can enjoy a stroll along the river and to Ripon.

The delightful Harrogate – great for shopping and Betty’s Tearoom – and the city of York – with its famous minster and the Jorvik Viking Centre – are a drive away while Fountains Abbey, Studley Royall and Newby Hall make interesting days out.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this site.

The toilet block is the star of this campsite.

This review is for Boroughbridge

The toilet block is the star of this campsite. I never had to queue for a shower even though the campsite was almost full and it was spotlessly clean. Boroughbridge is a lovely town with good cafes, pubs, shops and walks. We walked there several times. Particularly appreciated not needing to use the car to see the sites. The tourist information office was really helpful and had loads of leaflets for walks in the area. The fish and chip van visits three times a week. Really good value excellent fish and chips. The only downside was the noise from the dairy across the road. This might not be an issue on all of the pitches and would probably be OK if you were in a caravan. At night the noise was very intrusive and kept me awake until about 3.00 most nights. It seemed to stop around this time. We managed 6 nights here but left early because of it. The site would be a very convenient stopover as it is only a short distance from the A1 (which incidently you can't really hear).

We stayed here with our 3 year old granddaughter, for her first camping trip (not far from her home). It's a lovely flat site for a tent, and the tents are in a huge grassy field where there is loads of running about space, all easily surveyed from the tent. We also had our dog, and there are walks on a lead straight off the site. The grass is kept really well mown and despite rain, we managed to keep the tent interior free from grass clippings and mud. A downside for me was the proximity of the A1M (about a mile away), and a small industrial estate (about half a mile away) which made it quite noisy at night. Roecliffe nearby is a pretty N Yorks village with a set of historic walks available as leaflets. The supermarket nearest is Morrisons the other side of Boroughbridge.

A pleasant quiet site next to the river Ure.

This review is for Boroughbridge

A pleasant quiet site next to the river Ure. Good dog walks with many good market towns in the area, without having to drive miles. Morrisons supermarket on the outskirts of Boroughbridge only 10 minutes from the site. A fish and chip van visits three evenings a week, highly recommended. The nearbye village of Roecliffe sports the Crown Inn. A lovely 14th century inn. Not cheap but excellent. nearbye industrial estate gives off some noise, but does not spoil things. We have used the site on several occasions and tend to stay for a week, or more. It is handy as an over tier to travelling holiday makers. They should try to stay longer, the area is well worth a visit.

“What a lovely site this is. Stayed over a weekend in June for the first time with our 2 boys 11 and 8 and will be back again, one of the best c&cc sites we have been to. The site has a small play area for the kids and an area on 'the paddock' for ball games etc. Lovely peaceful site by the river (no direct access though) with regular visits from the ducks. Fish and Chip van visits the site on a tues, thurs and sat evening between 430 and 515 although we didnt get the opportunity to try this time. Boroughbridge is a short drive away or accessible on foot with directions available from reception, we had a lovely sunday lunch at the three horse shoes which was not over priced. Site also ideally located for visiting York and Harrogate. Looking forward to our next visit keep up the good work and thanks for a lovely weekend.”
