Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Brockalee is a family run Certificated Site midway between Newcastle and Carlisle, just south of the Roman Wall. The site is level with good access; we have horses, ponies, donkeys, goats and various breeds of sheep and a cattery. The site is a short walk to a large play park, a village shop, tea room, pub, restaurant, pottery museum, riding stables and local attraction Hadrian’s Wall. Vindolanda and Housteads forts and museums with live excavations. Allen Banks. New opening for spring 2017 is The Sill National Park Discovery Centre, a day out for everybody approx. 3km away. We are on the Coast to Coast cycle route and in the middle of a network of fantastic signed footpaths and the local bus and train service give direct access to Newcastle and Carlisle and the Roman Wall (the bus stop is 150mtrs and the train station is 600mtrs away). Within a short drive are 3 heated open air swimming pools, Kielder Forest and reservoir, Alnwick Castle and Beamish Museum. National Trusts Wallington Hall, Gibside and Cragside House with falconry days with birds of prey and a visitor centre. Other attractions include Kirkhale Lancelot, Capability Browns Lake and Courtyard and Hexham Abbey.

Fantastic site extremely clean. Owners very welcoming with wealth of knowledge regarding walks and surrounding areas. 5 star site Brockalee campsite review Bardon mill northumberland. The site owners Jeff and sheila are very welcoming nothing is to much bother for them. They are also wealth of information regarding the area, giving you ideas on places to visit. The facilities are spotless as is the site there is only space for 5 caravans or motorhomes all hard standing. Also space for few tents to . . Bargain at £15 per night if staying few nights with electric included in the price. Jeff also kindly gives you box free range eggs free of charge when you arrive. Excellent level site. Very handy for Hadrian's Wall. Within walking distance of Vindolanda and Roman Wall. Excellent site for motorhomes with level hard standings. A very well kept site. Road noise may disliked by some. This is the best CS we have ever seen.

A lovely CS situated in a very beautiful part of the country.

This review is for Brockalee Farm

A lovely CS situated in a very beautiful part of the country. This immaculately maintained site consists of 5 well laid out hard standings and a small toilet/shower block. Ideal for visiting Hadrian's Wall and other attractions in this part of Northumberland. A very warm welcome from the site owner. Yes, there is some road noise from the A69 but it is a price worth paying given the ease of access. The site is exposed but again worth it for the stunning views from your units front window! Highly recommended.

Lovely little site and a friendly welcome. Facilities very clean, local pub with great food and a warm welcome. Will definitely be back. We arrived late Friday 10th March and were welcomed by Jeff who gave us 6 lovely fresh farm eggs. He told us about the facilities and a gave us a little information about the local area and walks. He recommended the local pub The Bowes Hotel for a bar meal Saturday night and the four in our party were not disappointed! Fantastic food and drinks to match. The five pitches were all full and I can fully understand why. Lovely little site and we cannot wait to visit again.
