Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

Brockalee is a family run Certificated Site midway between Newcastle and Carlisle, just south of the Roman Wall. The site is level with good access; we have horses, ponies, donkeys, goats and various breeds of sheep and a cattery. The site is a short walk to a large play park, a village shop, tea room, pub, restaurant, pottery museum, riding stables and local attraction Hadrian’s Wall. Vindolanda and Housteads forts and museums with live excavations. Allen Banks. New opening for spring 2017 is The Sill National Park Discovery Centre, a day out for everybody approx. 3km away. We are on the Coast to Coast cycle route and in the middle of a network of fantastic signed footpaths and the local bus and train service give direct access to Newcastle and Carlisle and the Roman Wall (the bus stop is 150mtrs and the train station is 600mtrs away). Within a short drive are 3 heated open air swimming pools, Kielder Forest and reservoir, Alnwick Castle and Beamish Museum. National Trusts Wallington Hall, Gibside and Cragside House with falconry days with birds of prey and a visitor centre. Other attractions include Kirkhale Lancelot, Capability Browns Lake and Courtyard and Hexham Abbey.

Ideal site for exploring the surrounding area, without the need for moving the van.

Ideal site for exploring the surrounding area, without the need for moving the van. Beautifully kept site with good security and ample clean and spacious facilities. Very friendly and helpful owner who provided us with fresh eggs on arrival! Small shop in village a short walk away for essential supplies. The only minor downside was the constant traffic hum from the A69.

The best certified site we've stayed on to date! Fantastic facilities, super friendly owner and pitches to rival any club site. This site is just off the A69 so very easy to get to and very handy for exploring. It is 10 minutes drive to Hadrian's Wall, so ideal for 'walking the wall'. We found it to be a great base with a lovely view. We will definitely be returning - thank you for a lovely stay!
