We booked this site specifically as our son is an aircraft enthusiast and we knew that we'd get a lot of plane spotting done. That being said, we uncovered a gem of a site and did not find the proximity of the airport at all intrusive. The site is lovely, and sheltered from the westerly gales we experienced. Steve, the owner, is very friendly and welcoming and the location of the site is ideal for visiting Bristol, Bath, Wells, Cheddar, Weston Super Mare, etc, all of which are an easy drive away. Nailsea & Backwell Station is not too far away if you prefer to take the train to Bristol, Bath or Weston, etc. The site is only a few yards walk to Felton Common which has lovely views, and, at the time of visiting, a good few skylarks singing their little hearts out. We will definitely return to Mendip View.

Near the end of airport runway! We liked the fact that it was a field surrounded by fields!

We dined at the nearby Pony & Trap restaurant. Not cheap but they've got a michellin star.
