A farm site with magnificent sea views

Fabulous sea views, amazing sunsets, award-winning beaches and excellent coastal walks - these are just some of the delights of our Damage Barton Club campsite. Close to the pretty cliff top village of Morthoe, Damage Barton campsite is set on a 600-acre beef and sheep farm and is perfectly located for exploring North Devon and Exmoor.

This attractive, well laid out campsite has spacious hardstand and grass pitches, two facility blocks, a laundry, washing up area, large dog walk and a good sized area for ball games and kite flying. The site also has a well-stocked shop selling local produce, pastries and fresh bread daily.

The lively village of Woolacombe is within walking distance of the campsite as are the delightful Lee Bay, Ilfracombe, Bull Point and Morte Point.

Long sweeps of golden sands at the family-friendly beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton are perfect for soaking up the sun and watching the surfers in action, while inland Barnstaple offers a blend of high street and speciality shops, markets, bars and restaurants.

We had a great time with beautiful weather and some lovely walks with breathtaking views. The coastal walks were sometimes steep so good walking boots and a lot of energy may be needed. The campsite was very clean and tidy with very friendly staff maintaining each pitch beautifully and happy to have a chat and give advice. Mortehoe has a nice pub called the Chichester Arms which serves good food. The campsite is gently sloping so good mobility would be beneficial if staying nearer the bottom of the site at the camping area. The site would benefit from an additional toilet facility nearer the camping end but apart from that everything was great.

I have visited this site in the past and continue to find that most aspects of facilities, pitches and upkeep of the site continue to be well maintained. The shower block is spacious although found the showers luke warm on most occasions. The views are particularly nice and the site is positioned well for visiting surrounding beaches & attractions by car on foot or by bike. I am a dog owner and there are 2 dog runs at the top and bottom of the site. When taking my dog on his lead for an early morning walk I bumped into one of the Site Wardens on the way to the dog run, who was also walking his dog. Within the space of 30 seconds I was advised that he was the site warden and ?kindly asked? to keep my dog under control, and to request that my dog should not pee on the pitch lane signs. I found this unnecessarily interfering and a little off-putting being quite honest as coming from a member of staff of the friendly club.

Stayed for 3 nights leaving on Good Friday.

Stayed for 3 nights leaving on Good Friday. We parked up the campervan and didn't move it for 3 days. We managed to walk to nearby Lee Bay (very steep return journey), biked along the nearby cycle route into Ilfracombe and got the bus at site entrance into Woolacombe. The site has unparalleled views, helped when we were there by stunning sunsets. Toilet blocks were spotless and had some of the best showers experienced at a site. The staff were friendly and the on site shop was well stocked and very helpful. All in all a great trip.

this is our first time with the club and was very impressed with the facilities and how clean the facilities were, the site had breath taking views and very peace full, it is situated on top of a hill and very windy, but this didn't create to much of a problem putting the awning up the staff were very friendly and helpful, the only thing the site would benefit from is a play area for the younger members, but we would definitely use the site again
