Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.

Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.

While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.

The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!

Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

Site was described as tranquil, we may have picked a bad week but this didn't take into account constant flyovers by army helicopters til 1 in the morning and at night noise is more obvious, you can also hear the military firing range, road noise was quite noticeable. I don't want to detract from what was a very enjoyable week but wanted to give a balanced opinion on what has been described as tranquil, then again it depends on where you live

Great to have a dog exercise area and to have gates directly into the forest.

Great to have a dog exercise area and to have gates directly into the forest. Nice and quiet which was great for our puppy's first camping experience. Lots of fab walks in the forest but also Thetford town was a nice place to wander round. Quite a lot of history in Thetford which we didn't know about. We loved it and we will go back for weekends!!

This review is for Thetford Forest

We have stayed at Thetford Forest camp site many times over the years because we love it. However we found it very busy during the May half term which was to be expected. This was okay with us but we were put next to the toilet block and it was very busy and noisy at times. We had people walking or children cycling through our pitch. We are a couple and we would of liked to of been away from the facilities and these noisy areas. The electric hook up was very problematic during our stay, for example; the column where we plugged are cable into burnt out, leaving part of the camp site plug melted into ours and damaged our plug. The manager was most helpful and repaired the column but charged us 3.99 for the new plug for our electric lead, which we found a bit cheeky considering the electrical fault was that of the camp site electric column and not our electric lead. Other campers next to us and another one thereafter were also having electrical problems who were using the same column. We would like to also mention that the drive way in and out of the camp site needs the holes filled in regularly, even driving at a slow place (less than 5mph) our caravan bounced all over the place. Even though I feel we have been negative after our stay this time, however we will return but not during these busy times.
