Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.

Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.

While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.

The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!

Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

We booked for 3 nights as it was our first time camping as a family. On the day before we were due to leave both my wife and kids asked if we could stay another day, when I went to reception to book they were fully booked and the only way to get another night would be due to a cancellation, luck would have it there was a cancellation (we had gone back to our tent by now) one of the staff rode round on his bike to let us know and we got our extra night. showers and toilets where very clean, the shop is small but had all the basics, overall we will be going back for another stay.

Great 4 nights in this forest environment, affording us nice long walks in the forest and a day discovering the town of Thetford with its association to "Dads Army". Would go again.

On arrival this site is not well signposted, with site sign immediately on turn- not great when you need to give time to turn. Very grumpy and unfriendly wardens, however they did take us to our pitch, but then reeled off all the rules and regulations! Nothing to do in immediate area, unless you have a dog or bike. Local pub is advertised as serving food, however it doesn't state it's only open on certain days. On site shop serves limited fresh produce, only bread available is frozen, with no sell by date so uncertain of how long it's been in the freezer, no papers, but plenty of sweets for kids. Nearest shop is 5 miles away so be prepared. Showers and toilets were well cleaned and plenty of hot water. In summary clean site with level pitches
