Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.

Due to essential maintenance, Thetford Forest Site will be carrying out work on the main entrance, between Monday and Thursday, 14th - 17th March 2016. The site will remain open, however, you may experience delays on entering / exiting the site.

Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.

While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.

The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!

Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

The staff upheld the finest traditions of the club, welcoming friendly and very helpful. The site is in a great location, ideal for dog walking, sightseeing or just relaxing. We stayed three weeks in January and is a well suited for winter vanning, the toilet block always clean and very warm and the hard standing pitches are wide ( coping with awning and van and enough space to walk around the sides!). If I had to be very objective then I would agree that the roads on the site do need some attention, but we did experience some very bad weather so perhaps allowances need to be made.. and maybe plans are in hand for summer improvement?. Also lighting is an issue and a few well placed lights near the shower blocks would help. However this should not detract from a great site in a lovely part of the world. The club should open more sights in the winter and members need to use them.
