Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.
Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.
While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.
The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!
Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

Very peaceful, clean site. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay and would recommend it to friends and family. Loved the fish and chip van on Friday night. Disappointed we did not take fishing rods with us but it is on our list for next time.

This was our second visit and it wont be
our last. If you want to do a spot of fishing
the small lake is very well stocked, and
even novice anglers have got a good
chance of catching a reasonable size
carp. The site shop is well stocked with
a good variety of food and there is a
section that has got some useful items
of camping equipment should you have
a problem. We had some fish and chips
from the van that visits the site on
Fridays and they were excellent. We
visited the local pub which is about a
gentle 20 minutes stroll away and found
it to be a very friendly place. We enjoyed
being able to go for walks straight off the
site, they are not strenuous and are well
marked out or, if you want, you could
do a walk that you map out yourself. We
visited Cromer and Norwich. Norwich is
very nice city and has got a very large
market and cathedral. There are plenty
of places to get a bite to eat. If you
have got children Cromer is a great
place to let them do a bit of crab fishing
and other things that kids enjoy at the

We picked our new campervan up in the morning and by the afternoon we were at the Thetford site. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful; lending us a water hose and helping us reverse.
The whole site was very clean, tidy and well run. After a nice woodland walk we were on our way to new adventures.

Just spent 11 relaxing days here and we will certainly return. There are plenty of gentle walks in the adjacent forest. We intended going to Thetford Forest at High Lodge for woodland walks but never made it as there were plenty on the doorstep! We also walked through the wood to the Dog and Partridge (several times!) and enjoyed lunch and a pint.
The site has an enclosed dog exercise area where the dogs could be safely let off lead.
Facilities good - very clean and well maintained. A shower rack would have been handy for soap/shampoo etc. The showers are the push button variety which is fine when just having a quick shower but not so convenient when you've a lot of hair to wash! The staff were brilliant - gave us a good welcome and were friendly and helpful throughout our stay whenever needed.
This was our first visit to the site but it will not be the last.
