Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.

Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.

While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.

The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!

Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

Easy access to national cycleways and forest walks.

This review is for Thetford Forest

Easy access to national cycleways and forest walks. Be aware of the live army range along the cycle way as it was very active when we stayed and I had to expand to my daughter all was OK as the tanks fired along the woods !!!! This is not next to the site I must add. You also get a great view of the us airforce planes flying about the area. Thetford has some good sites to visit and high lodge forrestory commission site is fab and great value for a family day out. Norwich is only 40 min away and a fab day out,

I have stayed here quite a few times and it is a great location and a pleasant site The pitches are quite small and close together which means you have to pitch in a certain direction and position regardless. The facilities are adequate and pleasant enough even if the showers are a little on the small side with no shelve for your toiletries. The facilities are well kept and clean. The welcome we received was very poor, upon arrival i parked behind another unit waiting to go in as the office wasn't open until 12 despite there being staff there. I asked to move my car and caravan as i was potentially blocking the entrance in a very rude manner. I questioned this a the drive is 3 possibly 4 cars wide and was subjected to a number of sceneries of speeding motorists crashing in the back of my caravan followed by mumbling when i did indeed move. I then asked for a quite spot as it was just myself and my 11 year old son and was asked ' well! will you be quiet? The request was obviously ignored as i was positioned next to the dog walking area which naturally included children playing quite late in the woods as well. In closing, not a bad site and in a good location but the staff in serous need of customer care training or just common courtesy would be nice

Thetford campsite team were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The walks into the forest were a lovely way to finish our boys off for the day. A short drive to supermarkets and the brilliant Thetford Forest/Go Ape/ Gruffalo trail. We will be back again ... thanks go to our neighbours who donated their hot coals to our BBQ too!
