Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.

Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.

While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.

The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!

Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

The site is kept very clean and tidy, the shower/toilet blocks are always serviced on a daily basis, they are very modern and kept heated, the site is peaceful during the day and night apart from a few helicopters and jets that fly out of the nearby airbase (these didn't cause any inconvenience), access to Thetford forest is right off the site and there are miles of walks and bike rides to explore (just remember to take your mosquito deterrent), we went into the forest a few times during our stay and I came home with over 50 really itchy bites! Overall a great site to stay at.

This was our first 'test' site with our new caravan. We were gong to visit other sites, but always come back here. The staff are so friendly and the site is clean, well laid out and convenient for walks and cycling.

We had a great weekend on our grass jumbo pitch; but to be fair from viewing alternative pitches they are all very generous and spacious. Toilet blocks modern and kept spotless by cleaning at a sensible time of day (11.00 - 12.00). Easy access into the forest to walk to your hearts content; or your dog looks at you and says please take me home. Easy tow, open all year - Thetford will always be on our list for a return visit (Jan to July to ensure we miss the canine issues).

This is my 1st visit to Thetford forest club site.

This review is for Thetford Forest

This is my 1st visit to Thetford forest club site.i had been to another site nearby in the forest but it has now closed. I have found the site really clean well maintained staff were very helpful.During the week, it was very quiet, peaceful, weekend has been very busy, with families , but mainly well behaved there is a large playing field & area for children to play on. The forest is teaming with wild life/birds/insects &butterflies , neighbours told me they saw fox cubs playing &numerous species of deer. The designated walks are well sign posted & maintained too in the forest. Longer & shorter walks to suit everyone. Its definitely on my list for another visit later in the year
