Pitch up in the grounds of the secluded Sandringham Estate.

Sandringham Club campsite is in a delightfully secluded spot, within the grounds of the Royal Estate in Norfolk. Campers will love the tranquillity offered by this woodland site where many pitches are set among trees.

Away from the site nature and RSPB reserves and the sandy beaches of the north Norfolk coast including Hunstanton and Brancaster will keep all family members entertained.

You won’t have to venture to far from your unit to find things to do at this Club Site. The Sandringham Estate, the country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen, has more than 60 acres of gardens and 600 acres of woodland and heath – over a quarter of which make up the country park which is open to the public. There’s also a visitor centre, a restaurant and a museum of royal memorabilia and vehicles.

Quiet roads and forest tracks around the site are ideal for walkers and dog walkers. Cyclists too can enjoy the quiet roads and Norfolk Coast Cycleway which passes the site.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

We stayed here 15 yrs ago and nothing has been updated. The showers are consistently dirty and of very poor quality with little water pressure. Elsan points not at all toilet blocks either. The roads are breaking up and need attention. However, the wardens are very friendly and helpful and the local area is stunning. For the expense I would expect much better quality showers and more of them - 3 per block is just not enough. There is also no lighting on site so walking to the block after dark on the uneven roads is hazardous to say the least.

In spite of this being the summer school holidays, the friendly staff directed us to a peaceful pitch, close to all the facilities. the facilities were excellent and the ablution blocks kept clean despite some inclement weather. We will definitely be returning to Sandringham as it is such a good base for sightseeing and day journeys to all the nearby attractions.

A large site suitable if you have young children as there are several play grounds, less suitable for older kids as not place for ball games. The opportunity to pick your pitch was offered when we went, do look at several pitches as there is wooded and grass options. We went for the first offered which was a mistake as the pitches closer to the gates appeared to be busier. Pitches in wooded area very closely spaced with smaller tents typically pitched there, worth avoiding. Grounds of Sandringham lovely for walks, wash monster was fab.

Loved the site, the welcome from the wardens was great and we were able to chose our pitch. We asked to be near the playground as have 3 children. There are two play areas on the site, we were near the second one which was the furthest from the reception area. Never had to queue for a shower at between about 8 and 8.30am which I thought was great in August! Visited Holkham Hall which was lovely - 2.50 all day parking charge, large grounds and lake to walk or cycle around. Walked up to the Sandringhamsitor visitor centre which took about half an hour each way. Nice restaurant, good children's play area and woodland walks. We used the large sainsbury's supermarket outside Kings Lynn which was fine. Biggest negative, which is not the sites fault, but I think worth noting is that the traffic around Kings Lynn, and along the A149 towards Hunstanton is really very busy and was held up badly a lot of the time.
