A city campsite with a rural feel describes our Norwich Club campsite. It commands a beautiful spot next to a river with walks and fishing along the banks. Its back-to-nature feel is enhanced by a small holding with chickens and geese right next door.
It’s a fairly secluded and quiet campsite and well laid out with 50 grass pitches and well maintained facilities.
This campsite is in easy reach of the city of Norwich by bike, a lovely walk along the old railway line or by bus which stops a quarter of a mile from the site. Norwich is famed for its castle and cathedral and it has more medieval churches than any other city in Western Europe. Four large malls will satisfy the fussiest shopper and there are numerous places to eat and drink.
There are walking and cycling opportunities in Whitlingham Country Park, one-and-a-half miles from the campsite. And, as well as being a haven for wildlife, there’s also a watersports centre offering windsurfing, sailing and kayaking.
The Norfolk Broads, Britain’s largest protected wetland, is within easy reach of the campsite and is home to some of the country’s rarest plants and wildlife.
Access to the riverbank for fishing during the fishing season (16 June to site closing date). Current Environment Agency rod licence is required before fishing can commence. The river can get very weedy in summer months. The site is close to the mainlin

A little gem right on our doorstep.
Paul was an absolute diamond from the
moment we booked . Nothing was a
problem , helped and gave us great advice
all weekend. On our leaving date , George
was just has helpful as well . Gents you're
a credit to your wonderful site.
Yes, the facilities are a little dated - but
they are more than adequate for the use.
The chemical pit is a bit grim , but how
long are you going to be there !!!!
The site is kept pristine at all times , so
the site wardens require a massive pat
on their backs.
Will we go back , yes defo - would we
recommend , yes defo.

Site not easy to find with low bridges to avoid. Had requested a grass pitch but the one allocated to us was mostly a dust bowl & not pleasant. Lot of muck from the site tracked into the loo/shower block. Only two showers so queues likely - one a decent sized shower & the other very small.
Depending on where your pitch is train & road noise may be a problem - it was for us.
No motorhome service point which was a bit inconvenient but with a bit of manoeuvring able to fill watertank from tap at shower block.
Very convenient - an easy walk to the city. Helpful, friendly staff.
