A gem of a Certificated Site for motorhomers who don't want to move the van during a short stay.
Very pleased to have found this CS. We had a welcoming arrival from Trevor. He, and his wife Jane are a credit to the Club. We booked for 2 nights but stayed 3 when we saw the views and proximity on foot to Caerleon (<15 minutes). It's a busy place with lots to see, particularly the excavated Roman sites and the museum. There are lots of pubs - book a meal in The Red Lion. Buses to Cwmbran & Newport are within easy walking distance, as are convenience stores.
In summary, a great adults-only CS with everything you need for a short break within walking distance.

Lovely little quiet site over looking the River Usk
I came to this site by accident as I had left it too late to book a site closer to Cardiff. The entrance is easy to miss bit that is true of many CS's or maybe it is my driving. There are 5 pitches 3 of which are hardstanding. The site is sloping but not in an extreme way. It has two shower/toilet units and and information room.
The site is raised over the valley of the river Usk with good views and is approx 1 mile outside Caerleon and is very quiet. I think it should be listed as a "Hideaway site" as well as its current listings. It is an adults only site.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and gave out a booklet about Caerleon which was packed with information. Caerleon is a Roman town and was one of only three in England which had a legion based in it. It has a Roman amphitheatre and Roman bath house. There is a museum in the centre of Caerleon (which is a small town) telling the history of this town under Roman occupation and then its Anglo-Roman continuation after the fall of Rome. Caerleon was a major port in Roman times.
Caerleon has a sculpture garden by the river and other interesting sculptures in what can best be described as an artistic sidestreet where I stroked the nose of a multicoloured plastic Welsh Dragon.
We promise to return as we did not have time to do Caerleon justice. I was suprised on returning home that it was on 80 miles from Birmingham, We joined the A40 only a few miles from the site, then M50 and M5
