Overview

You will find a real taste of the Scottish Highlands in this area of castles, distilleries and beautiful scenery.

Walks, wildlife and whisky are all in abundance in the area surrounding our beautiful Speyside Club campsite. The campsite enjoys a rural position between the fabulous Moray coast and the Cairngorms Mountain range. Set on a gentle south-facing slope and surrounded by trees, Speyside campsite will appeal to those looking for a peaceful and relaxing base for their exploration of the area.

Views extend over the surrounding countryside and trees and hedges dot the site giving some areas a more secluded feel. Facilities include a laundry, children’s play area and a dog walk.

If you enjoy a wee dram of Scotland’s famous tipple, you’re in luck. The area surrounding the campsite boasts some 50 whisky distilleries, including the world-famous Macallan Distillery. Most offer tours and there are whisky festivals in May and September.

For walkers, the 84-mile Speyside Way connects the moray coast with the Grampian mountains and passes close to the campsite.

As well as being handy for the coast of Moray Firth, Elgin, Buckie, Forres, Nairn, Fochabers and Spey bay are all within easy reach. At Spey Bay you’ll find the Scottish Dolphin Centre where you can enjoy dolphin spotting or take a walk along the mouth of the River Spey.

Loads of space with grounds very well maintained throughout.

Loads of space with grounds very well maintained throughout. All facilities spotlessly clean and both the guys were very welcoming and friendly. Only a 3 mile stroll into Aberlour which has plenty facilities. Good walking over and above Speyside Way. Great circular walk taking in Aberlour, Dufftown and Craigellachie albeit last mile or so into Dufftown is a bit overgrown. Lots of distilleries to visit as well as easy access to the likes of Elgin and Lossiemouth.

This a lovely site, easily accessed and well located for exploring the beautiful Moray Firth Coast area and inland towards Aviemore. The site is well maintained by two friendly and helpful wardens, both sporting a healthy sense of humour! We initially booked in for a stopover en route elsewhere but liked it so much we stayed an extra two nights and then a further four on the way home. The facilities may be a bit dated but kept spotlessly clean as is the whole site, including water points and chemical disposal. There is always plenty hot water, and showers have the advantage of not having to keep pressing a button for measured amounts of water! In addition to male and female toilet blocks, there is a very spacious disabled toilet and shower room as well as a small laundry area and dish washing area. Some basic supplies are available at reception and newspapers can be ordered. Since we visited last year a lot of hard work has obviously gone into additional hard standing pitches and this has improved the site greatly. However an additional 6 - 10 similar pitches would make all the difference to this already lovely site. The manager and assistant obviously take great pride in enhancing the site with thoughtful planting, bird station and one or two picnic tables. They run the site efficiently without being officious. As Camping and Caravan members we were able to take advantage of 25% discount made available to over 60's in June and 15% in July so excellent value for money. No Wi-FI. Who needs it every day anyway?. But great TV reception. Highly recommended.
