Overview

You will find a real taste of the Scottish Highlands in this area of castles, distilleries and beautiful scenery.

Walks, wildlife and whisky are all in abundance in the area surrounding our beautiful Speyside Club campsite. The campsite enjoys a rural position between the fabulous Moray coast and the Cairngorms Mountain range. Set on a gentle south-facing slope and surrounded by trees, Speyside campsite will appeal to those looking for a peaceful and relaxing base for their exploration of the area.

Views extend over the surrounding countryside and trees and hedges dot the site giving some areas a more secluded feel. Facilities include a laundry, children’s play area and a dog walk.

If you enjoy a wee dram of Scotland’s famous tipple, you’re in luck. The area surrounding the campsite boasts some 50 whisky distilleries, including the world-famous Macallan Distillery. Most offer tours and there are whisky festivals in May and September.

For walkers, the 84-mile Speyside Way connects the moray coast with the Grampian mountains and passes close to the campsite.

As well as being handy for the coast of Moray Firth, Elgin, Buckie, Forres, Nairn, Fochabers and Spey bay are all within easy reach. At Spey Bay you’ll find the Scottish Dolphin Centre where you can enjoy dolphin spotting or take a walk along the mouth of the River Spey.

Eat Local

There are good local butchers shops in both Rothes and Aberlour and many restaurants which support local producers, including Fresh at Aberlour, The Bistro in Archiestown Hotel. Simpsons Bakery and Coffee Shop in Rothes.

Having visited this hidden gem of a site in the centre of beautiful Speyside with its many local attractions on several previous occasions. We felt that we had to again post a review to both acknowledge the vast improvements that have been carried out on this site and to invite other members to enjoy the tranquility, the views, the amazing countryside surrounding it and indeed if you are a whisky connoisseur the sheer number of working malt distilleries in the area.

Loved this site and will be back for sure.

Loved this site and will be back for sure. Huge amount of things to do and places to visit in the area. Both wardens could not have been more helpful or friendlier. My good wife and I felt this site is a real jewel in the clubs crown. Our favourite yet. Aberlour is a gorgeous place and well worth a wander round. The facilities block is spotless clean and very well maintained. The grass is kept immaculate and lots of lovely views on site. Would recommend a trip to Elgin about 12 miles away lovely town and we really enjoyed it. All in all a great site for a short break or long holiday. Ps we had perfect TV reception
