    Top site for photography

Our campsite is beautifully located under the big skies of Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire’s coast and countryside is waiting to be explored from our pretty Woodhall Spa Club Site located in the Fenlands area of the county. The site enjoys a quiet, rural setting near the Edwardian town of the same name and accommodates some 90 units. It is bordered by trees and offers some secluded pitches. There is a lake on site and you’re likely to share your pitch with a variety of wildlife including rabbits and wild birds such as woodpeckers and moorhens.

The Edwardian town of Woodhall Spa is within walking distance and offers several places to eat. The Cottage Museum tells the history of the local community and the Kinema in the woods – a unique two-screen cinema – is open seven days a week.

If you're looking for sandy beaches head to the popular resort of Skegness and Chapel St Leonards. These are both brimming with activities to keep the whole family entertained. In contrast, the peaceful Lincolnshire Wolds provide a beautiful landscape of rolling hills and gentle valleys, perfect for walking, cycling and wildlife watching. You'll find the market towns of Market Rasen, Louth, Horncastle and Spilsby provide a range of shops and eateries.

Aircraft enthusiasts will enjoy the Battle of Britain Air Museum at RAF Coningsby and the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby. Other local attractions include Lincoln Castle and Tattershall Castle, a dramatic red brick tower managed by the National Trust.

Eat Local

Free range eggs are sold at Brackenside Farm and the Bakery and Delicatessen in Woodhall Spa sells local cheese, bread and cakes. The Petwood Hotel serves food prepared with local ingredients, as does the Ebrington Arms in Kirkby-on-Bain.

This is an ideal location for visiting RAF bases such as Coningsby and East Kirkby (which is dog friendly) and neither were too far from the site. Skegness is close by too if you want a day at the coast. Woodhall Spa itself has a variety of shops, also a Co Op for food supplies and no shortage of eating venues. The Kinema in the woods is just down a lane off the main street and well worth a visit. Off site there is Ostlers Plantation, ideal for walking your dog, which has ruins of of an old bomb store in the woods. All in all we found the site and things to do most enjoyable.

The site is pleasant site but it does have some drawbacks these are listed :- The site does not state that a number of the electric points are only 10 amp with a modern caravan this severely limits what units can be operated on mains. There are only three water service points one is a motor home point, the remaining two points have 15 cm ( 6 inch) curb stone around them, this makes it difficult to fill the fresh water aquaroll. A long hose is required, if you have a waste master you need to lift it up over the curb stone to empty it. A full one can weigh over 40 kilo. If you are a fit strong person and do not mind the risk of getting a hernia you could do it. The only option is to use the motor home service point which means there is only one service point that is user friendly. The access lane to the site is narrow and is used by other drivers. When several campers arrive at or just before 1 pm the road can be blocked by a number of vehicles queuing in the lane. My advice is delay your arrival to later in the day. Also the entrance gate is too narrow it is difficult to drive through when campers are queuing to register, increasing the width of this gate would ease the problem. I was surprised at the refusal to supply a plan of the site stating it is an internal document! This seems rather petty.
