The toilet/shower block is very old, some of the walls are delaminating, when we were there we experienced black mold in the showers (no excuse) and, in the gents, toadstools growing under one of the partitions. The information room was left open and had leaves all over the floor. The old reception was still in use, rotten wood, paint peeling off, office scruffy. This must have been going downhill for years. We defected from the other club a few years back (to escape the petty rules and obsession with hard standings) to join the friendly club. This has shaken our confidence in what standards can be relied on when going to a CCC site for the 1st time. We booked in for 4 nights but left after 2. We were so upset we were going to ask for a refund but the day we left the wardens were having a day off. We went to the other club at Sutton on Sea and sank back into the comfort of familiar cleanliness and good organization (and exceptionally friendly team.) Whoever is responsible for ensuring standards and maintenance of CCC site facilities has been asleep on the job.

My son & I have just had 2 wks at this site for our 3rd year the staff are very friendly & helpful. Good to see the site getting a makeover, this site is great for everyone with plenty places to visit nearby or just a 15 main stroll into town. We will be back next year without a doubt?:-) :-)

we just spent 8 nights at mablethorpe, we been going to this site over the last 8 years the site as been improved with new tarmac road, most pitches are now hard standings new office and barriers, toilet block is being replaced this winter then it will be 5 stars all round, all this is long overdue, site managers pam and Graham are very friendly and nothing was too much as always, looking forward to seeing them next year for another great holiday when improvements will be finished

Although the site is kept clean and tidy the site is in need of a refurb, they are still using the old reception block as the new one is not yet finished. The grass arrears are very patchy , also the toilet and shower blocks are very old and dated (although kept clean). Was disappointed by this as the amount of money the sites now charge, I thought the extra cash would have been spent on getting these run down sites up to a acceptable level. I don't blame the staff in any way for this as they are doing the best. In my opinion the CAMPING AND CARAVAN CLUB need to get there act together in 2015 and start to upgrade their sites to give their members a bit more for the amount they have to pay.
