A small friendly site with great views and plenty of places to visit within 1/2 hour.

This review is for Barford Top Camping & Caravan Site

A small friendly site with great views and plenty of places to visit within 1/2 hour. Lovely site were you are welcomed by the owners Maurice and Wendy , They give you a tour of the place and a leaflet giving places to visit in the area as well as emergency phone numbers etc. It is a Adult only site so is very peaceful,(we have nothing against children having 10 G/children & 18 GG/children). The purpose built barn houses Ladies shower/toilets--Men`s Shower/toilets--Disabled toilets--Washing up sinks--3piece suite-Table and chairs--Books, magazines, & games. The Sunrises & Sunsets are amazing(when its out of course)and as there is no light pollution the Stars at night are a wonder to see. Thank you Wendy/Maurice.

The price is £23 a night my personal opinion not worth it due to lack of facility's.

The price is £23 a night my personal opinion not worth it due to lack of facility's. Very disappointing this site is not a CS any more but standard site there is only one male and one female shower and toilet plus a disabled toilet for over 20 pitches apparently when outside tap is turned on the female shower runs cold due to drop in pressure if someone is filling an aqua roll it's a long wait with cold water in the shower no heating or insulation at all no real privacy you can hear every sound internal walls are only some sort of plywood painted. Then there is the outside door to the barn slams shut every time someone enters or leaves, The barn is made of steel so resonates like a drum. The price is £23 a night my personal opinion not worth it due to lack of facility's. To top it all no designated dog walk as listed in description they are nice people that run the site but it's still under construction so expect to see ladders and tools left in the barn.

A relaxing and quiet site The owners Maurice and Wendy made us feel very welcome and showed us the facilities when we arrived. We requested a grass pitch to erect our awning and were well pleased with the views and ease of setting up. The field was well drained with a level aspect. This is exactly the type of site we like, very rural and very quiet. Maurice and Wendy supplied an information sheet detailing things to do in the area and useful numbers both emergency and for local amenities. Will definitely return when in the area.
