This was our first ever night camping and we were nervous - we couldn't have asked for a better site to make our start. We were made very welcome and provided with the couple of items that we hadn't realised we needed. The site was easy to find, clean, with well spaced pitches. The Barn provides facilities and is in the process of being refurbished - we still had all the facilities that we needed and can see that the are will be great when completed. There is some easy walking close by including lovely villages with pubs/food/shops. Foxton Locks is always worth a visit.

Site was easy to get to from M1 and has good access and easy pitching. Stayed here on our way to Kent and London. Maurice and Wendy were very friendly and we were shown to the best spot available. 2 toilets and 1 shower (a 2nd shower not in use) are housed in a large barn, with dish washing facilities and chairs and settee. Rutland water and Barnsdale are within 30 miles, Foxton Lock on the Grand Union Canal under 6 miles away and Market Harborough is close by. For walkers the Leicestershire Round passes through the nearest village Saddington. Because of its location, the facilities and the friendliness of the owners we decided to stay on our return to the north east. We are a retired couple.

We were made more than welcome on arrival and shown to our pitch.

We were made more than welcome on arrival and shown to our pitch. The Barn is an added extra for social gatherings and the sun sets in the evenings were breath taking. I would have given 5* if it had not be for the fact we had been charged for the dog and then told we would have to go off site to exercise her. I appreciate it is a working farm, but then they should not charge extra. Also the price had increased since booking.

Great idea from the owners putting sofas and tables in the barn for evening socials should you wish. Everything you would want in a CS site. Foxton locks is a must to visit. Great stair case lock with pubs and eating outlets either side of the staircase lock. The owners will talk you through other attractions in the area, and give you a handy booklet with these listed as well as any emergency numbers if you need them. You have to buy an electricity card for those using EHU. We had the 5 card which still had units left on after 3 days and we do use electric as we don't skimp on luxuries when away, but the inclusive price was on a par with other CS sites we have stayed at. We would definitely return to this site and recommend it to others.
