After a warm welcome from Wendy we were able to select a pitch from those available and had a guided tour of the site and facilities. The shower block was still under construction but immaculately clean and the showers proved to be excellent. The pitches were level and well maintained and hook-up was straightforward. Wendy and Maurice could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We opted to stay for an extra night because we loved the site and all it offered. Uninterrupted views over the rolling hills of Leicestershire, sunsets and stars were our idea of perfection. By day we enjoyed walks around the area and along the Leicester arm of the Grand Union canal including the impressive flight of locks at Foxton. In the evening we barbecued in a rural idyll! We ate on site every day as the views were unsurpassable but there were a number of pubs fairly nearby and even an Indian Restaurant that delivers to the site! We will return! This is exactly what a CS should be.

A nice quiet country site 2nd time at this site and Wendy and Maurice always have a lovely warm and caring welcome for everyone. Very clean basic facilities, which are in the process of improvements. The site is next to a country road but no traffic noise late evenings or overnight. Foxton Locks are about 3 miles from site and well worth a visit. Stanford hall is approx. 9 miles away. Lots of wildlife in the area and beautiful sunsets. This site is well worth a visit and my family will be returning again.

Must be one of the best sites around.

This review is for Barford Top Camping & Caravan Site

Must be one of the best sites around. If you are wanting an adults only, tranquil and stunning view setting, then this site is a must. Views across the valley are fabulous and the sunsets are truly amazing. Only sounds are the ones from the animals in the surrounding fields. Birds of prey can regularly be seen and the swallows can keep you entertained! No music or tvs blaring, just peace and quiet. 10 minutes drive to Foxton Locks, 15 minutes to Market Harborough, 5 minutes to local village shops. Wendy and Maurice are wonderful people, Maurice is currently updating the wash areas which will be lovely when they are finished, Wendy is so friendly and welcoming, giving visitors all sorts of tips and advice on what's where and how to get there. Old feed store barn has sofas, chairs and a dining table if you wish to use them as well as a selection of books and magazines to browse through, the barn also houses the pot washing sink and an electric kettle too! All in all a wonderful relaxing spot for a weekend (which we did) or longer which we will do on our next visit.
