Another great find As the previous reviews have praised this site very highly I can only agree with them, very friendly owners and very friendly to welcoming dogs, and to me it's saying something about people when their signs addressing campers with please and thank you, and the facilities looked quiet new and clean, views were stunning and so were the sunset. If you have the os map of the area you can get quite easily walk to Foxton locks which we did(round trip of 7mile one day, and on the second day around trip of 9miles) with all of the attractions to wonder at including the pub for a well earned drink or meal, on the third day we went into Market Harborough which has all the usual shops( in my opinion nothing to write home about) the walk along the small river/park area ws quite pleasant, and when we did eventually find the canal, that was quite a pleasant walk also with some amazingly large properties backing onto the canal. This site was only 1hour from home and I can see us using this site again for a long weekend again, cheers Mark and Chris and Gizmo.

Really friendly well run site for adults.

This review is for Barford Top Camping & Caravan Site

Really friendly well run site for adults. Stunning location overlooking the valley and sunsets. Shower and toilets are new and kept beautifully clean. We didn't use the seating in the barn but it would be great if you get rained off. Backs onto local road with occasional fast traffic but it was quiet most of the time and at night. Site is generally level but on the grass we needed ramps just to lift us a bit. Lots and lots of local walks for dogs including down to Foxton locks which we did with only a few short stretches of local road and the rest on footpaths. Local pubs within walking distance and lots of choice at Foxton locks. We certainly hope to return

Well kept site with very welcoming owners. Good base to visit this area.

Well kept site with very welcoming owners. Good base to visit this area. We enjoyed our stay. Wistow has a lovely 'Rural Craft Centre' with a good tea room. The bell at Gumley is very welcoming and does very good well priced food. Views from this site are extensive as it sits on a ridge. There is no dog walk on site at the moment but plenty of local footpaths. Care needed when walking on the road which is not at all busy, but carries fast traffic. Grass pitches have the best views but all good. The 'Barn' is especially useful for campers as it has settees and a large table and chairs plus sink etc for campers use. It also houses lovely new showers and toilets.(One for the men and one for the ladies!) The hosts, Wendy and Maurice, are especially welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. A lovely site.
