At £5 a night this is a gem - truly beautiful watched red kites swans and swallows close up - excellent spot for fishing and boating - no toilets or showers but I don't expect that for a fiver !! Good spot for visiting rushton triangular lodge and lydington bede house -- but mainly for boating after all there's nothing so nice as just messing about in boats !!!

We stayed here as part of the folk dance group, so we did not see the owners. As the previous reviewer has said, grass needs cutting and is a bit lumpy. It has water and a chemical disposal area. The site is very quiet and has nice views of the surrounding countryside. It is in a very quiet village. Access to the site could be a bit tricky as the cars of the nearby garage blocked the narrow road. But as a beginner caravanner with a small van it was ok. Good location for Rutland water. I would visit this site again.

We had a two night stay here and providing you only require running water and a CDP this site is well worth bookmarking if you are visiting the area. A stunning setting next to a small lake and slow moving brook with water lilies and wildfowl, including a pair of swans with cygnets while we were there. The field was a little lumpy and the grass needed cutting but no big deal. We did have to avoid the droppings from geese and swans while pitching our tent but rather that than the dog mess on some sites! Excellent value at £5 per unit per night.
