First night we stayed toilets were kept clean, but there was only us and one other tent on site. But as it got busier they soon got dirtier. They only clean them once a day and put one look roll out. They do need to look at cleaning them more frequently. There is one room with shower and toilet for men and same again for woman and they are good sized. There is no ventilation in there unless you leave the front door open! This creates half the mess as the floor is always wet and then gets muddy - which then gets into the shower! There was a mop bucket left in the ladies but no mop. The site is lovely and quiet and safe for the kids to play. There is a play area one end and next to the field is an enclosed woods that the kids loved playing in there. Would go again, just hope the toilets improve. Christine is very welcoming and she sells produce from her porch. Showers are 50p which you leave in the honesty box.

Having spent one night here, being a hide-away site I wasn't expecting the same amenities as on larger sites....but I was expecting it to be clean. Sadly it wasn't. The Ladies toilet floor looked like it had not been cleaned for some time, and my husband told me that the gents weren't much better.Apart from there being no toilet paper ,there was a pair of ladies knickers left on the floor!! If my husband had not have already paid the10 site fee(electric hook-up was another 3 pounds extra !!) we would have left. In this years site book it stated to be rated H and IZ for 10.According to the site book it was inspected in 2012,may I suggest that another inspection is due, to save fellow club members being as disappointed as we were. We have been members for many years, but this is the first time I have given a negative review.

We stayed here at the last minute as we thought it looked good in the Big Sites Book. However, the price, as stated in another review, was actually £12 a night, not £10 to £11 as in the BSB, and another 50p in an honesty box for a shower. The pub is about 3 miles away, not within a mile as stated in the BSB, and "surrounded by woodland walks" is misleading. The woodland walk is roughly the length of the field and, although it has been landscaped with fairies and things in it, it takes approximately 5 minutes to stroll round.
The site is on a bus route to Southport, 6 miles away, with buses running approximately every hour during the day.
The toilets and showers are new and there is only one of each for each sex.
The camping field itself is very nice and level. The hardstanding area was taken up with two very large motorhomes and a horse box which looked as if they were permanently lived in. However, because the weather was so hot and dry, the field was perfect.
Altogether, we were disappointed as we were looking for woodland walks for the dogs and a pub to walk to in the evening.
