This was our 1st visit to this site & we would definitely go again.

This review is for Longfold Farm

This was our 1st visit to this site & we would definitely go again. The site is in a paddock partly sheltered from the rest of the farm. Although there was only 1 toilet & shower room it was spotlessly clean. The only downside was having to wait while people took lengthy showers. Another toilet would be great. In the meantime could I suggest a chair(plastic 1 would do) to help people with mobility problems when getting showered/dressed, & maybe a mirror. I would recommend this site to my family & friends, and look forward to our next visit.

We had booked a 2 night stay at the nearby Leisure lakes ( I wouldn't bother looking If I was you ... It was awful) we stayed for 10 minutes then asked for our money back and left ! I contacted Longfold Farm having read the great reviews. We wasn't let down. As we arrived we was approached by the owner. We asked if he had a taxi number to take us to the nearest pub for some dinner as we had come straight from the school pick up. He offered to take us but we said it was ok as we didn't want to put him out. We set up and next minute his wife Tammy pulled up in her car stating she would take us. She drove us to the Blue Anchor pub (about 1/2 mile away which served lovely food -all you could eat for 4.99) Tammy told us to ring her when we wanted picking up. She kindly picked us up a couple of hours later. Very kind of her. Sadly it rained most of Saturday but we still had a stroll into a village called Croston. Had to walk on the road a lot of the way as no pavement. (Not good with children). Not much there. Again ended up in a pub called The Crown Hotel which was nice. All in all a lovely stay with friendly owners. Would definitely recommend.

Tammy & Andrew gave us warm welcome. Spoilt for choices when pitching, lovely nearly flat field. Shower/toilet facilities very good. Our dog enjoyed the walks from the site by the mica-lite landing strip!

The site is easy to find and Andrew and Tammy were delightful hosts showing an interest in you without being nosey. The site is a lush, flat, partly sheltered paddock area with ehu (we didn't use it) with plenty of space overlooking the countryside and we were lucky enough to spot a buzzard riding the thermals! Half of the on site portokabin hides a spotlessly clean toilet and shower room whereas the other half if emptied, could easily be converted to a 'family room' providing a sink for washing up and the likes of a kettle and toaster or even a fridge. These additions would make what is already a lovely little hideaway into a perfect away from it all location.
