    Top site for beaches

Cliff-top site popular with birdwatchers, sea anglers and Channel hoppers.

Our Folkestone Club campsite is ideally located whether you’re holidaying in Kent or taking a day trip to France by Channel Tunnel. The campsite enjoys a dramatic cliff-top position with stunning views of the sea and the chalky cliffs of the Dover-Folkestone Heritage Coast.

The campsite is surrounded by the trees and shrubbery of The Warren, a local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Nature trails weave their way through The Warren, an important habitat for many rare plants and animals. Guided walks run from April through until September.

This peaceful campsite is well laid out with a mix of grass and hardstand pitches. The excellent facilities include a parent and child room with a baby bath, shower, and a highchair with harness.

Walkers and dog owners will enjoy the walks from the campsite along the cliffs and beach. You can walk into Folkestone and Dover using the footpath from the site too.

Folkestone has a cobbled High Street, harbour, promenade and a sandy beach next to the harbour. Dover, with its world-famous white cliffs, has an interesting castle.

South of the campsite is the seaside resort of Hythe, while Romney Marsh boasts three of the finest family-friendly sandy beaches in Kent – Dymchurch, Greatstone, and St Mary’s Bay. The shingle beach at Dungeness is backed by an RSPB Nature Reserve visitor centre and the area is brimming with plant and wildlife.

Access and SatNav Advice

Please note that this site is not suitable if you need to leave for an early ferry, as the site gate does not open until 7am, and there is no parking outside the site. No touring caravans on this site. Long narrow access road to site.

Worth Noting

Sea Fishing from beach. The site overlooks a great shingle beach – the kids will love it. The site is the ideal location for bird watching and walking.

Eat Local

Beautiful site and friendly staff, but beware I've had THREE HOURS (it's only 9.30am) of MHs revving engines and reversing round my van to use the motor home facilities, slamming doors, parking within a metre of my van and leaving the engine running! These people had no consideration for the fact I was trying to sleep (and I'm a heavy sleeper so its crazy that there were so many for so long that I got woken). There was a queue so it was continuous, one after the next. The pitch used, whilst nice to have a sea view, should not be used unless people are planning an early start and you should be warned. It woke me up three hours earlier than planned and didn't allow me the relaxed start I intended. I'd come back to the site, but only with it in writing that I wouldn't have this pitch.

Just got home from our second visit to this site, another lovely stay. Toilets very clean and site well kept. We love this site for our dogs as great walks along the beach and about half hour walk to Folkstone where there are lots of great restaurants and pubs with outdoor space for sitting with dogs. My only gripe is the access road, this time it was worse than first. Very narrow road with a number of large pot holes ALSO vehicles visiting beach/waterfront park along this narrow road making it extremely tight to get up/down in a motorhome. In fact on Saturday afternoon a car had parked on a bend making the road completely impassable for a motorhome! I really think the club need to step in and speak to council regarding the access road as it will eventually mean motorhomes won't be able to use this site (meaning tents only!)

Stayed two nights. The location is idyllic. Perfect for walking on the beach with a dog. The access road is a challenge, single track with a few passing places. Steep in places. The site itself is lovely. Very close to beach Facilities were well.kept but only to showers meant a queue is likely. The walk to town along the beach is a challenge best done in walking boots. The walk along the road is ok but in heavy rain is impassible on foot without wellington boots due to a section which floods. Highly recommended.
