    Top site for beaches

Cliff-top site popular with birdwatchers, sea anglers and Channel hoppers.

Our Folkestone Club campsite is ideally located whether you’re holidaying in Kent or taking a day trip to France by Channel Tunnel. The campsite enjoys a dramatic cliff-top position with stunning views of the sea and the chalky cliffs of the Dover-Folkestone Heritage Coast.

The campsite is surrounded by the trees and shrubbery of The Warren, a local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Nature trails weave their way through The Warren, an important habitat for many rare plants and animals. Guided walks run from April through until September.

This peaceful campsite is well laid out with a mix of grass and hardstand pitches. The excellent facilities include a parent and child room with a baby bath, shower, and a highchair with harness.

Walkers and dog owners will enjoy the walks from the campsite along the cliffs and beach. You can walk into Folkestone and Dover using the footpath from the site too.

Folkestone has a cobbled High Street, harbour, promenade and a sandy beach next to the harbour. Dover, with its world-famous white cliffs, has an interesting castle.

South of the campsite is the seaside resort of Hythe, while Romney Marsh boasts three of the finest family-friendly sandy beaches in Kent – Dymchurch, Greatstone, and St Mary’s Bay. The shingle beach at Dungeness is backed by an RSPB Nature Reserve visitor centre and the area is brimming with plant and wildlife.

Worth Noting

Sea Fishing from beach. The site overlooks a great shingle beach – the kids will love it. The site is the ideal location for bird watching and walking.

Lovely site with friendly staff, stunning views, sun sets and rises.

Lovely site with friendly staff, stunning views, sun sets and rises. The drive way in is interesting to say the least. I have a 6 berth motor home and found the lane to the site a little challenging. Once driven it's not anything to worry about really. The site is away from it all and has absolutely stunning views of the coast, France is visible on a clear day with binoculars. My 13 year old son spent for ever just watching the shipping in the channel. We used the site as a base to visit Dover castle, this was two full days to see it all properly.

I have stayed at this campsite on and off for the last six years and always found the staff to be friendly and accomodating. Sadly this time was different. As most of the grass pitches had been reseeded I had to stay on a hard standing to get electricity. After the first night I moved my van to the side of the pitch as one of my dogs was getting sore feet on the stones. Immediately one of the site managers was over to tell me I could not do this as I had to stay in the middle of the pitch. Bearing in mind that my van is a small one I find that a bit unreasonable as did many of the other campers around. There was nobody on the grass next door and we were not going to use the newly seeded area. Sadly this confrontation took the shine off what would have been a very relaxing few days by the sea and will be what I remember from this trip to Folkestone. The comment "Get it moved" does not fit with the "Friendly Club"!

If you are looking for an excellent site in a beautiful setting then Folkestone is for you.

If you are looking for an excellent site in a beautiful setting then Folkestone is for you. Approach is down a narrow and at times very steep road; perhaps not for nervous drivers but it is well worth the effort. All pitches can hear the waves breaking on the beach along with birdsong and no traffic noise. The site is beautifully kept, with immaculate toilet and shower block with washing up facilities under cover. Being so close to the Channel ports it is not surprising that it is a VERY busy site and you will need to book ahead, even in the mid and low seasons. Overall a very impressive stay.
