    Top site for beaches

Cliff-top site popular with birdwatchers, sea anglers and Channel hoppers.

Our Folkestone Club campsite is ideally located whether you’re holidaying in Kent or taking a day trip to France by Channel Tunnel. The campsite enjoys a dramatic cliff-top position with stunning views of the sea and the chalky cliffs of the Dover-Folkestone Heritage Coast.

The campsite is surrounded by the trees and shrubbery of The Warren, a local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Nature trails weave their way through The Warren, an important habitat for many rare plants and animals. Guided walks run from April through until September.

This peaceful campsite is well laid out with a mix of grass and hardstand pitches. The excellent facilities include a parent and child room with a baby bath, shower, and a highchair with harness.

Walkers and dog owners will enjoy the walks from the campsite along the cliffs and beach. You can walk into Folkestone and Dover using the footpath from the site too.

Folkestone has a cobbled High Street, harbour, promenade and a sandy beach next to the harbour. Dover, with its world-famous white cliffs, has an interesting castle.

South of the campsite is the seaside resort of Hythe, while Romney Marsh boasts three of the finest family-friendly sandy beaches in Kent – Dymchurch, Greatstone, and St Mary’s Bay. The shingle beach at Dungeness is backed by an RSPB Nature Reserve visitor centre and the area is brimming with plant and wild life.

Access and SatNav Advice

Please note that this site is not suitable if you need to leave for an early ferry, as the site gate does not open until 7am, and there is no parking outside the site. No touring caravans on this site. Long narrow access road to site.

Worth Noting

Sea Fishing from beach. The site overlooks a great shingle beach – the kids will love it. The site is the ideal location for bird watching and walking.

Eat Local

There are several stalls selling fresh fish in Folkestone. Hythe has good greengrocer shops and fishmongers, all selling local produce. A Farmers’ Market is held at Capel-le-Ferne.

Yes the road leading to the campsite has a few holes and cars parked down one side, but we had no trouble getting in and out with our trailer. Facilities could be cleaner and better - soap ran out just after they were cleaned one day and wasn't filled up to the following clean 24 hrs later. Water in the shower very lukewarm and coming from the beach, expect warmer water but the sink water, too hot. Not sure it's worth the extra £10.00 a night so will check out a few other beach campsites before coming back.

We have used this site for years it is beautiful and peaceful .... However for the first time in fourth years I felt unwelcome, booking in was unpleasant, and the new number code locked toilets meant that at 3am when I was fumbling around trying to punch in the numbers I ended up having to pee in a bush...not nice. Also my two little grandsons age 4 and 6 were told if they kept going fast on there scooters they would ban them.... Very sad ... How fast can little kids go and surely it's lovely seeing kids play outside not causing trouble and having fun... The campers were not affected and I've slowed down in my car at many a campsite where children are playing.. I thought that was one if the attractions of camping letting the kids have a bit of freedom ... Oh well all good things come to an end!

This site is well laid out and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Fantastic walks to Folkestone and Dover. If you have a dog be careful, we lost our dog at Samphire Hoe, after many hours searching we found out she had decided to look at the white cliffs from the wrong side. She had a badly broken leg. The staff were very helpful and assisted us getting in touch with the police and various contact numbers. Thank you for a great holiday and your support.

Upon reading the reviews we were concerned regarding the acess to the site, not the easiest to get to,but it prove to be of no problem, found to be very poorly signed and we ended up confused, when you come off the main road to drive into site there is a small sign post of the Club but then a contradition into entrance, as if it is a private road,we then drove on further up to a different site, having to come back down, needs big improvement, road very poorly with big pot holes to! Managers very friendly and the view is worth it,make sure that the pitch you stay doesnt have a pitch in front of you,or you can wake up like ourselfs looking into a tent on top of a van, like us on the second day, upon raising the issue with staff (not the managers),I was given the,"nothing we can do aproach, you have your pitch they have theirs"very poor customer service on that response, and defeats the purpose a pitch with a sea view! had the view not had been worth it, we would have packed up and leave and demand a refund!
