    Top site for beaches

Cliff-top site popular with birdwatchers, sea anglers and Channel hoppers.

Our Folkestone Club campsite is ideally located whether you’re holidaying in Kent or taking a day trip to France by Channel Tunnel. The campsite enjoys a dramatic cliff-top position with stunning views of the sea and the chalky cliffs of the Dover-Folkestone Heritage Coast.

The campsite is surrounded by the trees and shrubbery of The Warren, a local Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Nature trails weave their way through The Warren, an important habitat for many rare plants and animals. Guided walks run from April through until September.

This peaceful campsite is well laid out with a mix of grass and hardstand pitches. The excellent facilities include a parent and child room with a baby bath, shower, and a highchair with harness.

Walkers and dog owners will enjoy the walks from the campsite along the cliffs and beach. You can walk into Folkestone and Dover using the footpath from the site too.

Folkestone has a cobbled High Street, harbour, promenade and a sandy beach next to the harbour. Dover, with its world-famous white cliffs, has an interesting castle.

South of the campsite is the seaside resort of Hythe, while Romney Marsh boasts three of the finest family-friendly sandy beaches in Kent – Dymchurch, Greatstone, and St Mary’s Bay. The shingle beach at Dungeness is backed by an RSPB Nature Reserve visitor centre and the area is brimming with plant and wildlife.

Access and SatNav Advice

Please note that this site is not suitable if you need to leave for an early ferry, as the site gate does not open until 7am, and there is no parking outside the site. No touring caravans on this site. Long narrow access road to site.

Worth Noting

Sea Fishing from beach. The site overlooks a great shingle beach – the kids will love it. The site is the ideal location for bird watching and walking.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

There are several stalls selling fresh fish in Folkestone. Hythe has good greengrocer shops and fishmongers, all selling local produce. A Farmers’ Market is held at Capel-le-Ferne.

Nice little site, crowded in August (as expected).

This review is for Folkestone

Nice little site, crowded in August (as expected). We stayed here for 2 nights prior to touring holiday in France. The access is interesting to say the least. No caravans allowed although during our stay several did make it down the track, got to the gates and had to reverse. The access is poorly signposted, from main road look for an old green hut leading onto a rough/part tarmacked lane, rather narrow but several passing-places. Lane splits and right-lane leads down a steep hill to camp-entrance (dead-end). Area know as The Warren, at weekends locals park cars along lane so can be a challenge to pass. Once inside gates, plenty of room to park/manoever to your pitch. Good welcome but managers very busy. We did note a few 'extra' visitors appearing e.g. tents popping-up here and there and several motor-homes turning up without booking only to be turned away. Some excellent pitches with great views. Stony-beach below fence, about 20 mins walk into Folkestone (coastal-path leading thru semi-jungle pathways). Would return.

Such a variety of campers from many different countries. Communication and consideration from every one on site. I could relax and enjoy a holiday. The toilets and shower facilities where spotless. The cleanest I'd seen ever.

I found the new management helpful.

This review is for Folkestone

I found the new management helpful. The site has pitches that vary in shape due to the land, so if you have a large tent or bell I would definitely call them. There is no playground but the beach is really close. They have a little shop on site which is great. We love the site as we spend most of the day by the beach
