Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance (or hire a bike on site). The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Had a fantastic second visit this year to this site.

This review is for Canterbury

Had a fantastic second visit this year to this site. So much to see and do in Canterbury - whether shopping, people watching or visiting the cathedral and the ancient St Augustine Abbey. Heartily recommend as a well run and spotless site - the only downside was that it was not in the list of club sites offering 20% discount in September.

Close proximity to the city of Canterbury. Several visitor attractions e.g the cathedral, Old hospital, St.Augustines' Abbey, the Beaney Museum, Punting on the river, park & riverside walks and plenty of varied eating establishments. A good value for money bus service, A gold weekly pass can be purchased for 20.50, which can be used on all buses in Kent and East Sussex. We visited Dover Castle using the bus and had a fantastic day. A good means of transport, otherwise driving all the time and miss a lot of the sights and the countryside. Always stay at this site in Kent, as close to our daughter at Kent University. A very friendly, clean and welcoming site. We would recommend this site to family and friends.
