Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance (or hire a bike on site). The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Went to so many lovely places in just 3 days - Faversham, Deal, Sandwich, Whitstable and the amazing cathedral in Canterbury. Although a big site it was incredibly well run - never felt crowded or noisy. Clean and Immaculate. Friendly staff - very helpful as one of our party had a broken wrist and found pitch close to facilities. We will be back. Eleven out of ten!! Thank you.

A lovely site with helpful and friendly service and very clean. Having two facilities blocks also really helped. I'm new to camping but was also very impressed with the quiet; 8.30 on Saturday morning and everyone was incredibly respectful.Very dog friendly with a nice dog walk. However just across the road by the gold course is a great walk which ultimately takes you to Fordwich which is a very pretty village with the river stour flowing through it.. Perfect for dog and human swimming! The George and dragon is def worth a visit too. All in all, lovely weekend.

My only contact with the staff was at check in, this was efficient and friendly.

My only contact with the staff was at check in, this was efficient and friendly. I was escorted to my pitch and there was no petty fussing about parking with centimetre precission. The site was well kept and the facilities clean. The site is well located for access to the town or in our case a 30 minute walk to the Kent County Cricket Club ground for a Bryan Adams gig.
