Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance (or hire a bike on site). The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

This was our first time at a club site, being new to camping and previously only having stayed on smaller CS sites. From the welcome from the wardens, to the flat pitch for the tent and the clean showers and toilets I have to say that the whole experience was excellent. Although the site was pretty busy, there was no noise at night and we never had to wait for a shower. There are a couple of fresh water points on the site and both chemical disposal and grey water disposal points available should you need them. We didn't walk into Canterbury but to do so would probably be around 40 minutes or so. All in all a great site and we will be back.

Our second stay of this year and the facilities just cant be beaten.

Our second stay of this year and the facilities just cant be beaten. We arrived just on 8pm and the staff were still there waiting for us and still gave us a choice of pitches. For such a busy site it is peaceful and quiet at night.Bus stop just outside of the main gate. Only a 2 min car journey into Canterbury itself and about a 20min car journey to the likes of Ramsgate.
