Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance (or hire a bike on site). The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

My wife and I have always found site managers and assistants to be great, but this group really do go that extra mile! Whilst "signing in" it cropped up in conversation that we where attending a concert at Canterbury cricket ground. The lady behind the counter proceeded to print out a map for us showing the nearest park and ride and details that the bus company had provided for people attending the concert. We had stayed at Canterbury many moons ago and it would be justified in saying that the old shower and toilet blocks were "dated" Now, with the new blocks/improvements they are first class! Canterbury is a wonderful city with great shops and places of interest.A great site with spotless toilets - great pitches and helpful staff, what more can you ask for !!

This was the first site we visited since becoming members.

This was the first site we visited since becoming members. We weren't disappointed and it has well and truly set the bar as far as other CC sites are concerned for us. Warm welcome with a lovely choice of pitches near the dog walk. The facilities are large and immaculate. Very quiet in the evenings and like minded dog owners surrounded us. Will definately be back and happy to recommend
