Our Club Site on the beautiful Isle of Skye

Head to Loch Greshornish on the beautiful Isle of Skye and you’ll find our Skye Club campsite. It boasts an idyllic location right on the loch shore where campers enjoy stunning views over the water to the hills beyond.

The campsite is on a working croft. Magnificent Highland cattle and sheep graze close by and you can buy fresh laid duck and hen eggs at the site shop along with most essentials. There are hardstandings for caravanners and motorhomers with plenty of these pitches enjoying the views. You can go glamping at Skye campsite too. Two camping pods provide cosy accommodation for those who perhaps fancy leaving their own units at home.

A visit to Dunvegan Castle on the Isle’s west coast is a must. It sits on a rocky outcrop betwixt sea and manicured gardens. Seal spotting boat trips operate from the castle jetty. Not far from the castle Caligan Coral beach is a fantastic place to spend the day. Portree is the main town on Skye, set round a harbour you’ll find the Aros Centre. As well as theatre, films and concerts it’s here you’ll find out more about the Isle through a series of exhibitions.

To catch a glimpse of the sea eagles catch a boat from the harbour.

A good site to stay the view across the loch are lovely and highland cattle in field behind. There is only one bad point and that is the WiFi had to pay for two days what Camping and Caravan club members pay for a year and it kept dropping out complained only to be told I had been on for 28 mins to carry on as now been check manly dropped out twice and not three time to get my money back. We need one system for the whole not different one and a standard price.

Stop No.3 on our N500 trip (after Culzean and Oban).

Stop No.3 on our N500 trip (after Culzean and Oban). Crossed via Mallaig easy drive to site in North of Skye. Site is situated right on the shore of Loch Greshornish surrounded by hills and mountains. Excellent welcome and help throughout our stay. Facilities as expected, clean and well-kept. Visited nearby Dungevan Castle (not NT) reasonably-priced. Local village approx 45 min walk but also found nice little pub in hamlet of Stein. The drive to/from is worth the mileage. Returned via Skye bridge destined for Inverwewe Gardens.
