Our Club Site on the beautiful Isle of Skye

Head to Loch Greshornish on the beautiful Isle of Skye and you’ll find our Skye Club campsite. It boasts an idyllic location right on the loch shore where campers enjoy stunning views over the water to the hills beyond.

The campsite is on a working croft. Magnificent Highland cattle and sheep graze close by and you can buy fresh laid duck and hen eggs at the site shop along with most essentials. Tent campers are pitched in their own camping field and there are hardstandings for caravanners and motorhomers with plenty of these pitches enjoying the views. You can go glamping at Skye campsite too. Two camping pods provide cosy accommodation for those who perhaps fancy leaving their own units at home.

A visit to Dunvegan Castle on the Isle’s west coast is a must. It sits on a rocky outcrop betwixt sea and manicured gardens. Seal spotting boat trips operate from the castle jetty. Not far from the castle Caligan Coral beach is a fantastic place to spend the day. Portree is the main town on Skye, set round a harbour you’ll find the Asos Centre. As well as theatre, films and concerts it’s here you’ll find out more about the Isle through a series of exhibitions.

To catch a glimpse of the sea eagles catch a boat from the harbour.

Just home refreshed after a week of some much needed R&R on this A1+ site.

Just home refreshed after a week of some much needed R&R on this A1+ site. What a well maintained, well laid out site in a lovely location beside the loch. The facilities block was spotless, we've never before found one as well cleaned and maintained inside, and out, - it deserves more than the 5 stars allowed! Loads of space between pitches and the tiered nature of the site adds to the spacious feeling. Very quiet, the loudest noise came from the three herons down on the shore. Fresh eggs were super, try a duck egg they're yummy, and the fish van from Portree is well worth catching on its weekly visit. There's a good Co-op supermarket on the campsite side of Portree - only about 15 minutes drive and fuel prices in some garages on Skye are LOWER than in SOME garages on the near western mainland. Great site, super managers. We'll be back! . (A cautionary note to any radio amateurs (like me) ; don't pitch close to the facilities block. It seems to produce a lot of RF noise probably due to the control circuitry and it wipes out anything below about S6 at times.)

Very clean and wonderful views across the loch. Exposed in bad weather but good for touring the rest of Skye. Good dog walking alongside the loch. Excellent fish and chip van! No TV, radio or mobile reception. Near to Uig for ferries.

Congratulations Nicky and David, you have again made sure we had a great holiday. A very warm welcome as always. We look forward to coming to this site, by far the best site we have visited. Immaculate site with spotless facilities. Pity the weather was disappointing but the weather warnings from Nicky and David helped greatly. Looking forward to next year.
