Stayed here because of the great location near the Cairngorms, Loch Morlich and the pineforest where we had booked a Night Mammal Watch with Speyside Wildlife (excellent... saw Pine Martins and Badgers). We usually stay on small CLs as we like small peaceful sites so this large Club site wasn't really our cup of tea. It looked ideal for families but we found it too busy. The toilet/shower blocks were good but waste bins were overflowing. The chemical waste near us was full the whole time we were there and we had to cart our toilet cassette to the other end of the site to empty it which was a bit of a pain. On the plus side staff were very helpful but looked as though they were struggling to cope with the site at full capacity. Wouldn't stay again.

We have stayed here 6 separate times so far this year and have seen the cleanliness of the toilet blocks decline to a point when we were last here in August to what can only be descibed as dirty and grubby. We also see that maintenance has also been affected, broken hooks in showers and a broken lock for one if the toliet blocks which has been that way for about 2 months. Wardens are always very helpful, and the nearby Pinemarten bar is excellent.

Very good site for walking and birdwatching in the Cairngorms or just relaxing on the beach by the loch. There is a bus service that stops just outside the site which takes you to the top car park at Cairngorm or into Aviemore. The toilet, shower and laundry facilities are very good, but when we were there they had shut one block down and it was the block nearest the tent pitches. It would have been better to leave this one open and close the one near the caravan pitches. Also when the block was closed for cleaning there was no toilet on site available to use. There is no mobile phone signal on site and no wifi. However, there are three cafes near the site and they all have free wifi. There is also a small shop and bar near the site.
