This was our 3rd visit and will certainly go back..

This review is for Glenmore - Cairngorms

This was our 3rd visit and will certainly go back..Perfect situation for exploring Cairngorms & surrounding areas. Contrary to previous comments, toilet facilities impeccable, although only 1 block open at this time of year. Site managers very efficient and we were pleased to see that they enforced the dogs on lead rule,{ there is nothing worse than a dog mess outside your unit, [which has happened on a camping club site in the past}

A fantastic site great for walking or water sports on the loch.

This review is for Glenmore - Cairngorms

A fantastic site great for walking or water sports on the loch. Plenty to do in the area if you want to be active or you can just relax on the beach at Loch Morlich which is right next to the site. We stayed here the first two weeks in August and had a great time, showers and toilets are well maintained and electric hook up was good, no tripping out. The only thing against this site was some of the people who used it, those who obviously thought it is below them to clean the floor of the shower after they used it, those who drove the wrong way round the one way system as it was a shorter way to the gate and those who didn't clean up after their dog. I don't know if those people were members or not, but I never once saw a member of staff stop a car driving the wrong way or speak to a person who just walked away after their dog fouled the site. I have to say I was saddened by the behaviour of quite a few of the people on site, All my family loved the area and my son spent most afternoons at the loch, either kayaking or just playing in the water and on the sand. But I didn't feel the staff enforced any rules and because of this we wont be using any camping in the forest sites again.

We have here on 3 previous occasions, once in a caravan and twice in a tent.

This review is for Glenmore - Cairngorms

We have here on 3 previous occasions, once in a caravan and twice in a tent. We have always thoroughly enjoyed our breaks here as the scenery, loch and forest trails are fantastic. On reflection these plus points have probably clouded our judgement of the site. On arrival at the site, we were greeted by a very gruff unhelpful lady who shouted abuse down the walkie talkie to the site attendant. We arrived at around 2pm having booked well in advance and were offered one hardstanding (although half of it was grass!!!) which was next to a path leading to the toilet block and on the main road through the site. We had to keep the awning curtains closed at all times as everyone looked in on us whilst going to the toilet block and even cut through our pitch which wasn't even big enough to accommodate our car. The toilet block was clean although the showers were covered in mildew spots. I took my two small children into the larger disabled cubicle to shower them and the seat wouldn't stay up which made it very difficult to shower and was covered in mildew so they couldn't even sit on it. The chemical disposal point nearest to us was closed for 3 days because it was full, it was still closed when we left!! There were weeds growing around the toilet block and just a general feeling of no pride was being taken of the site. The water point nearest to us didn't have a good enough drain for wastewater and the water point in the woods took forever to fill up as the pressure was so poor. There should be a drying room for walkers to dry their clothes, as this was a big problem when we were in a tent. It's a fantastic setting, but for the price you would be expecting 5 star facilities, which it clearly is not. We will be looking elsewhere in October.
