    Top site for beaches

Beautifully located between the beaches of the Moray Firth and the hills.

Our Rosemarkie Club campsite on Scotland’s Black Isle sits right on the edge of a half-moon bay, flanked by hills and woodland on one side and the stunning Moray Firth on the other. If it’s dolphins you’ve come to see, you won’t have to look too far. The lighthouse, just a short walk from the site is the ideal place.

Campers will enjoy superb views over the Moray Firth to Fort George from many of the pitches here and a walk along the sand from the site brings you to the Faerie Glen. Rosemarkie village is famous for its Pictish stones housed in the Groam House Museum. There’s a pleasant beach extending all the way to Channory Point and a community-run beach café.

Fortrose boasts a ruined cathedral and several restaurants and tearooms. Hidden from most of the town and only reachable by narrow, twisting roads, is a very pretty harbour offering many leisure pursuits and a peaceful and secluded beach.

The more lively Inverness is close by. Sitting on the banks of the River Ness, the town is dominated by a pink crenelated castle. The towns offer many places of interest to visit as well as shops, eating places and a Victorian market.

Nature lovers can take a boat from Avoch Harbour or Cromarty to see dolphins. Or visit Munlochy Bay to spot wading birds, ducks and migratory birds, or feed ducks, geese and swans at Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park.

The final night of our trip.

This review is for Rosemarkie

The final night of our trip. We booked this as we were in a hired Motorhome and needed to sort everything before returning it the following day. Biggest downside (for us) was no suitable grey water point for the motorhome, which was partly our reason for booking this site. Had we known this we wold have used the Nairn club site. Glad we booked as they were full. Saying that the site was pleasant with beautiful clean amenity block and the Site wardens were so very welcoming and friendly. It seems an ideal spot for children. Didn't see the dolphins but theres always another time. Actually didn't see very much as the cloud and sea fog were well down both the evening we arrived and the following morning. Away from the Moray Firth the weather had been glorious.

First visit here but will certainly be back, must be in the top 5 best views we have had from our caravan. Superbly maintained and great management team, help given as soon as we arrived to our turn caravan towards the sea for an excellent view from the front window. Toilets and showers spotless but seemed a bit smaller than other sites. The beach is dog friendly and right outside your door, saw the dolphins only once at a distance Plenty of places to visist in the area.
