    Top site for beaches

Beautifully located between the beaches of the Moray Firth and the hills.

Our Rosemarkie Club campsite on Scotland’s Black Isle sits right on the edge of a half-moon bay, flanked by hills and woodland on one side and the stunning Moray Firth on the other. If it’s dolphins you’ve come to see, you won’t have to look too far. The lighthouse, just a short walk from the site is the ideal place.

Campers will enjoy superb views over the Moray Firth to Fort George from many of the pitches here and a walk along the sand from the site brings you to the Faerie Glen. Rosemarkie village is famous for its Pictish stones housed in the Groam House Museum. There’s a pleasant beach extending all the way to Channory Point and a community-run beach café.

Fortrose boasts a ruined cathedral and several restaurants and tearooms. Hidden from most of the town and only reachable by narrow, twisting roads, is a very pretty harbour offering many leisure pursuits and a peaceful and secluded beach.

The more lively Inverness is close by. Sitting on the banks of the River Ness, the town is dominated by a pink crenelated castle. The towns offer many places of interest to visit as well as shops, eating places and a Victorian market.

Nature lovers can take a boat from Avoch Harbour or Cromarty to see dolphins. Or visit Munlochy Bay to spot wading birds, ducks and migratory birds, or feed ducks, geese and swans at Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park.

This is a beautiful site located on the bay at Rosemarkie.

This is a beautiful site located on the bay at Rosemarkie. On our first night we saw dolphins frolic and swim by right in front of our caravan. It was an amazing sight and a real delight. Plenty of beach and inland walks close. Fortrose was a mile's stroll away where the ruins of an ancient Abbey can be visited. A butcher, baker and loacl Coop provide most things. Good food at various inns and restaurants can be found. The site is located almost on the 1st tee of the Fortrose and Rosemakie Golf Course so golfers are catered for. Pity I didn't bring the golf clubs; next time I will. Visit Cromerty, just 15 minutes drive away and do the walk up to the WW2 look out point then return to enjoy a stroll around the lovely lanes of a very pretty village. The welcome from the wardens was very warm and helpful. While the site does not provide for motorhome drainage facilities motorhomes out numbered caravans so demonstrating the desire to stay at the site. A must visit site.

Extremely helpful and informative of the site amenities and the local attractions, which included best eateries and dolphin watching from the the nearby lighthouse. We were escorted to our pitch which was at the bottom end of the site (47) which was just perfect and wow! What a view - looking over the Moray firth across to Fort George stunning... We were towing a Citroen C1 on the rear of our motorhome, however, this posed no problems as there was plenty of room to manoeuvre. Toilet block was immaculate and always had an abundance of hot water and the block itself was well heated. Only one point to mention this block only had one shower. Wasn't a problem to us - however, if this site was extremely busy then this might be a point of concern. Advised that a local fish van comes to the site on a Thursday, bought some salmon which was absolutely delicious - as was the food at the local golf club. Great surrounding walks for the dogs and also a good dog walking area within the site itself. Thank you to Elizabeth & Duncan for a fabulous stay. Would postivley recommend this site and will certainly be back. Thanks Again!

We had a lovely pitch overlooking the Moray Firth, lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. We walked along the beach to Chanonry Point to try to see the dolphins. Failing this we walked up the Fairy Glen, a magical valley alongside a stream to two waterfalls. Everything was kept very clean and tidy. We had a problem which the wardens, April and Steve, went out of their way to help us sort things out. Many thanks.

The campsite is immaculately maintained and right on the water - gorgeous in all weather! It's an easy walk along the beach to see dolphins or beach-comb, or stroll into the valley to see the waterfalls. Couldn't have asked for friendlier or more helpful site managers. It's an easy walk into Rosemarkie or Fortrose to eat out, sightsee (recommend Groam House museum) or pick up groceries.
