    Top site for beaches

Beautifully located between the beaches of the Moray Firth and the hills.

Our Rosemarkie Club campsite on Scotland’s Black Isle sits right on the edge of a half-moon bay, flanked by hills and woodland on one side and the stunning Moray Firth on the other. If it’s dolphins you’ve come to see, you won’t have to look too far. The lighthouse, just a short walk from the site is the ideal place.

Campers will enjoy superb views over the Moray Firth to Fort George from many of the pitches here and a walk along the sand from the site brings you to the Faerie Glen. Rosemarkie village is famous for its Pictish stones housed in the Groam House Museum. There’s a pleasant beach extending all the way to Channory Point and a community-run beach café.

Fortrose boasts a ruined cathedral and several restaurants and tearooms. Hidden from most of the town and only reachable by narrow, twisting roads, is a very pretty harbour offering many leisure pursuits and a peaceful and secluded beach.

The more lively Inverness is close by. Sitting on the banks of the River Ness, the town is dominated by a pink crenelated castle. The towns offer many places of interest to visit as well as shops, eating places and a Victorian market.

Nature lovers can take a boat from Avoch Harbour or Cromarty to see dolphins. Or visit Munlochy Bay to spot wading birds, ducks and migratory birds, or feed ducks, geese and swans at Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park.

Stayed twice- for 2 nights the first time then for a single night.

Stayed twice- for 2 nights the first time then for a single night. On the 2nd occasion I was late arriving due to a breakdown on the way - I phoned ahead and Sue (site manager) was extremely helpful and told me not to worry about arrival time. On arrival both times they were very helpful and gave me a choice of pitch. Site well maintained and toilets spotless Location of site is practically on the beach, and some mornings you can even see dolphins swimming past. Will definitely return when the site reopens after winter

Always a warm welcome from the helpful & friendly wardens.

This review is for Rosemarkie

Always a warm welcome from the helpful & friendly wardens. A stunning location at the water's edge with super views over the Moray Firth. Sunrises can be spectacular. A 20-30 minute walk into Fortrose or Rosemarkie where pubs, restaurants and shops cater for most needs. There is a popular golf course adjacent to the site, and it is a very short walk to the lighthouse where dolphin sightings are almost guaranteed. A perfect location for exploring the Black Isle. Facilities were well-maintained and spotless, but the toilet/shower block is rather tired by modern standards. Would definitely return to this site and reccommend to others.

The Wardens were helpful and friendly. The toilet blocks were warm, clean and the laundry & wash up facilities were good too. The site was well maintained and overall we had a great stay. We even saw the Dolphins in the bay too.

Dolphins main attraction for us, along the lovely beach.

This review is for Rosemarkie

Dolphins main attraction for us, along the lovely beach. Visited Loch Ness, Reindeer centre & Whisky distillery, all well worth a visit! Scenery wonderful everywhere. Only annoyance on site were the dog owners who didn't clean up after their dog, we took 6 and never left any mess. Also good local food shops/butchers etc +fish and chips.lovely walk both ways along beach. generally nice quiet site.
