Overview

Explore the Highlands from this peaceful Scottish campsite.

Our Club campsite at Dingwall sits at the head of the Cromarty Firth and is ideally located for exploring the Scottish Highlands and the wooded Black Isle.

This pretty campsite caters for all unit types; it is well laid out and level, with many pitches bounded by trees and hedges, ensuring you’re perfectly pitched to enjoy a relaxing break. The market town of Dingwall is close by offering a range of shops, a supermarket and restaurants. You can catch a train from here to Kyle of Lochlash on the West coast; a stunning route taking in some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery.

If you enjoy walking, the Dingwall Heritage Trail passes the campsite and follows the River Peffery to a picnic area on the Cromarty Firth. Head to Evanton and Fyrish Hill for other walking opportunities.

Wildlife lovers can spot dolphins at Cromarty, whilst Red Kites can be seen on the Black Isle. To view osprey, visit Udale Bay, part of the Firth shoreline where birdwatchers can also scan for waders and wildfowl.

To sample the local culture, visit the Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer with the Highland Museum of Childhood or enjoy a tasting and tour at the Black Isle Brewery, Munlochy.

Superb site for entry to the far North of Scotland.

This review is for Dingwall

Superb site for entry to the far North of Scotland. The site is quiet, and unusually but unobtrusively with the addition of really slow trains meandering past, (the occasional loco from the past is a a must see for devoted trainspotters especially during the summer excursion period when Pullman types drift lazily by!). Dingwall is laid back, quiet town, free from the madding crowd, and with just the right mix of quirky and modern shops and restaurants, and brilliant hostelries and only a 10 minute walk from the site. This is our fourth year of visiting and it just gets better each time, much to do with the care and devotion that the managers lavish on the site.

Staff at the site were super helpful and friendly. Site was really close to the town centre. Toilet block was spotlessly clean and all pitches were tidy and well maintained. Only downside is that there is no play area for children.

I would like to publicly thank Andrew, Chris, Elspeth and Ian for all their help, creativity, ingenuity and patience in helping me and my young daughter detangle, take apart, and put back together our 'put up' tent - I am so grateful. Their willingness to help and support, with a great sense of humour, made a stressful situation so much easier for me. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back Andrew - be warned - only though to show you I can put that tent up!! Take care and thank you. Highly recommended.
