Venture out to our most northerly Scottish campsite in the Western Highlands.
Our Inverewe Gardens Club campsite shares its name with the world-famous tropical Inverewe Gardens created by Osgood Mackenzie in 1862. This lush oasis perches on a peninsula at the edge of Loch Ewe surrounded by more than 2,000 acres of conservation estate.
Our campsite, just a short walk away, is another oasis of peace and calm. This pretty tree-lined site enjoys glorious views that extend over Loch Ewe – the eagle-eyed may spot otters and seals enjoying the waters. Catch the weather right and the sunsets from here are sublime.
The site has toilet and shower facilities, a laundry and backpacker facilities. For provisions the village of Poolewe, a short walk away has a good shop, as well as a tearoom and hotel.
There are plenty of walks to be enjoyed from site or cycle to Inveradale around the Loch. Further north Rubha nan Sasan, beyond Cove is home to a range of WWII command posts and gun emplacements which helped guard the entrance to Loch Ewe during the war.
Nearby Gairloch has a heritage Museum and Marine Life Centre offering daily cruises to survey dolphins, whales and seals.
Access and SatNav Advice
Recommended approach to the site is from Gairloch side due to steep hill from Ullapool direction.
Backpackers have an undercover eating and cooking area. A mobile butcher/grocery van visits twice a week. Most shops and fuel stations close on a Sunday. No bank in Poolewe but post office has a cashpoint
A market with fresh produce takes place at the village hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Site number 2 of our trip. Such a lovely welcome. Facilites are excellent and the site is absolutely immaculate. Probably one of the best we've ever been on. Brought back many memories from over 30 years ago when there with my parents. Perfectly placed for Inverewe Gardens (5 mins walk) and such stunning scenery in every direction. Weather could have been a little better but it didn't stop us getting out and about. Would definitely recommed this site to anyone but try and book in advance as they had to turn several people away while we were there. Would also recommend the Poolewe Hotel if you don't fancy cooking. Delicious food at reasonable prices together with friendly service and great locals. What more could you want.

Inverewe gardens just up the road, plus great pub in the village. Wouldn't want to be there high season. Beautiful and peaceful low season.

Enjoyed our stay, really nice site but poor lighting at night. Only two showers in each toilet and the pressure is VERY weak, but they they were clean and the water was warm. Site is nicely kept. We will be happy to visit again.

Great site which we have visited over a number of years.
Wardens are excellent, and helpful at all times. Had an emergency whilst there, warden was extremely helpful despite it being ' out-of-hours'.
Hotel, caf, Inverewe gardens all within walking distance.
Sea fishing next too site (mackerel when in season is really good from the shore). Good walks/cycling. Brown trout fishing, permit required (a few pounds).
Salmon & sea trout fishing available, at a price !!?
