This campsite is just to the north of England's capital in the home county of Hertfordshire, with the bright lights of London in easy reach.
The secluded, woodland setting of our Theobalds Park Club campsite belies its location just inside London’s orbital M25 motorway. Although just off the M25 the campsite is in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. The nearby Lee Valley Park will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen. While further west woodland, grassland, heath, rivers and ponds make up the vast expanse of Epping Forest, the largest public open space in the London area.
This well laid out, level campsite offers open camping areas and a choice of grass and hard stand pitches. Modern facilities, a children’s play area and dog walk service the needs of all types of camper.
At just 15 miles from the capital this campsite is an excellent base from which to explore London. Catch a train from Waltham Cross to enjoy the city’s fantastic shopping, varied eateries and bars and landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Olympic Park and more

Telephone booking accepted with 2 hours notice of arrival due to family illness. Booked grass pitch, but for extra 2 would recommend choosing hardstanding as first option as dewy morning caused mud to stick to shoes. Toilet/shower facilities spotlessly clean even at end of day. Will definately be returning whenever we visit family.

have met someone else this morning who was in total agreement
We stayed here so that we had access to the various centres being used for the European Hockey Championships. Being so close to the M25 and A10 made it a perfect base, the only downside being the constant hum of traffic, however you soon find it easy to "tune" it out. As we have a dog we also found the walks leaflet a great help and would recommend trying the walks even without a dog.we even walked to the Lee Valley white water centre which was well worth the effort as the whole Lee Valley park has some very enjoyable walking. All of the site staff were friendly and welcoming and gave us several recommendations for walks to places to eat, the walk to The Plough was especially good with all bar about 1/2 mile of the 6 1/4 mile round trip on Bridle Paths. We also had problems with fireworks from the Hotel which were very loud and very close, but I guess there is nothing that the Site can do about that. All told an excellent,we'll run and friendly site?
