Overview

This campsite is just to the north of England's capital in the home county of Hertfordshire, with the bright lights of London in easy reach.

The secluded, woodland setting of our Theobalds Park Club campsite belies its location just inside London’s orbital M25 motorway. Although just off the M25 the campsite is in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. The nearby Lee Valley Park will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen. While further west woodland, grassland, heath, rivers and ponds make up the vast expanse of Epping Forest, the largest public open space in the London area.

This well laid out, level campsite offers open camping areas and a choice of grass and hard stand pitches. Modern facilities, a children’s play area and dog walk service the needs of all types of camper.

At just 15 miles from the capital this campsite is an excellent base from which to explore London. Catch a train from Waltham Cross to enjoy the city’s fantastic shopping, varied eateries and bars and landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Olympic Park and more

Easy to find off the M25. We used it as a base to get into London each day via Train/Tube. We used Turkey St station, 30 walk or taxi-we used Waltham Station Taxis, great service. The site is a mix of caravans, motorhomes and a few tents. We were off site from 10am most days and back after dark so cannot comment during these times, however very pleased with the quietness of others on the site. Yes the M25 is not far away so some noise can be heard, but nothing to keep you from booking the site. Toilet/shower facilities were some of the best we have used so far. Would definitely use again if needed to be in the area.

Myself and my wife are new club members, this was our first visit to Theobalds park, on arrival we were greeted with very friendly staff who took us to our pitch and made sure we were ok being very helpful. The campsite its self is kept to a high standard, the toilets and shower blocks are kept very clean being attended to every day, the toilet and shower block is very spacious with a good number of wash areas, toilets and showers, there is a very good disabled block all self contained with toilet shower and wash area also call cords for help this is very spacious as well, when booking the site asks if you have any requests I made a request to be near the toilet block being disabled myself this was good as they got us as close as they could, on site they have wifi for a charge of 10.00 we brought this as we had our grandson with us and never had a problem, being close to the M25 you would think that traffic noise may be a problem you could hardly hear anything certainly nothing to be bothered about, being at Theobalds park gives you a great base for exploring London and all its attractions, we found that getting a train into London was easy from Waltham cross with trains around every 30 minutes, and the tube around London was very easy to follow, while in London we visited the London eye took a cruise up the Thames it was very good, we went around the M25 to visit Windsor castle well worth the trip, we went on a tour of Wembley if you are a football fan is great, this is just a few of the thing we did, Theobalds park is a great outlet to the capital and all its attractions, we would recommend this site to anyone looking for a break around the capital, thanks to all the staff at Theobalds park.

Wifi awful, extremely slow and kept freezing.

Wifi awful, extremely slow and kept freezing. Unable to evendownload emails in evening and morning. Showers and toilets great when cleaned, but had a lot of mud on the shower floor during weekday evenings, - site was dry so I think this has to come from work boots (ladies was clean all the time). There is quite a lot of noise from the M25, the club cannot do anything about this but members need to be aware.
