This campsite is just to the north of England's capital in the home county of Hertfordshire, with the bright lights of London in easy reach.
The secluded, woodland setting of our Theobalds Park Club campsite belies its location just inside London’s orbital M25 motorway. Although just off the M25 the campsite is in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. The nearby Lee Valley Park will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen. While further west woodland, grassland, heath, rivers and ponds make up the vast expanse of Epping Forest, the largest public open space in the London area.
This well laid out, level campsite offers open camping areas and a choice of grass and hard stand pitches. Modern facilities, a children’s play area and dog walk service the needs of all types of camper.
At just 15 miles from the capital this campsite is an excellent base from which to explore London. Catch a train from Waltham Cross to enjoy the city’s fantastic shopping, varied eateries and bars and landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Olympic Park and more

A pleasant stay on a nice site . Resident rabbit population were very entertaining . Marred somewhat by traffic roar from nearby M25 and party noise from adjacent buildings complex . Very unpleasant sewage smell outside well kept toilet block .

Good Points: you get a lovely welcome from friendly helpful staff and when they are not too busy, you can choose your pitch. The facilities are always kept clean and tidy with everything in the one building (toilets, showers, washing machines, CDP waste) there's plenty of showers and toilets for the size of camp. The staff always seem to be around for a chat or info, the grass is kept nice and short, making it look nice and tidy. There's a start of a dog walk path, thats been laid with tree bark, so no muddy dogs in the wet weather. All in all a nice place to visit but......
Bad points: the ground is lumpy and un-even underfoot, making it feel funny and awkward beneath the awnings ground sheet, possible tripping hazard. Grass has a few stones to hit when pegging out and hard in places when staking. There's lots of rabbits around in the daytime/night time, very tame but look out for all the rabbit poo and dig holes they make. The Internet was down for two days out of the four I was there, then dead slow afterwards, they should of advertised this on site web page (migrating server) because i couldn't get any work done and would have surely not booked for that week.
